- The title is a reference to the MTV Series Girl Code.
- The hF store is a reference to Hewlett-Packard. It then gets rebuilts as a Facelook store.
- Homer mentions both Siri and Amazon when asking for a beer delivered by a drone.
- Homer has a poster with a photo of Elizabeth Warren in his office.
- Marge shows Smithers his posts on Facelook.
- Mr. Burns asks Smithers if he's the Grindr game.
- A picture of Bob at Bob's Burgers's restaurant was shown.
- The BBC is mentioned by Lisa, though the shows mentioned are fictional.
