The Book of Jobs is a Simpsons Comics story that appears in Simpsons Comics #223.

Synopsis

"Have you ever noticed that Homer Simpson seems to have a new job every week? Well, there may be a very good reason for that episodic coincidence. What would happen if Homer didn’t take every new job offer that came along but passed them on to every Barney, Disco Stu, and Moe who came along? Look no further."

Homer is going to compete in Bullfighting Tournament against Señor Ding-Dong but Marge stops him and Carl takes his place for it's on his bucket list. Carl turns out to be good at it, thanks for the help pays he Homer in pastries. Homer combines two of the pastries he got and Lindsay Naegle want to start selling them. Brad and Neil telling then Homer at they want him to go on the Neanderthal diet. Krusty telling Homer at he wants him to become a DJ on his Klub Krusty. Homer considering which of the jobs he should take, Marge thinks he should let someone else take all the jobs and he gives them away. Apu becomes the DJ, Ned begins to eat the diet and Gil begins to sell pastries. Homer decides to start open his own employment office. He gives away his old job at the power plant to the Nelson. Homer's first customer is Disco Stu and he give him job as a racing driver, Barney starting to wear a Radioactive Man costume, Chief Wiggum becoming a police informant, Willie join the Springfield Bear Patrol. All people are enjoying their new jobs except Homer, he also wants to have fun and he can not go to Moe's longer because Moe has got a job as general in another country. Marge asks him to think of others and not himself. It soon going bad for everyone who have their new jobs, he let Comic Book Guy do the traffic report which making Disco Stu crashing his car. Ned does not want to listen to Lisa's opinions on the caveman diet, Apu takes his job seriously and become Kid Kwik-E, Barney thinks he's Radioactive Man for real, Wiggum start doing crime which himself are reporting about, Moe get the country to become bankrupt. Professor Frink comes by and telling that only Homer can make the life normal again, he starting ruin there carrier with eating pastry, stands as a model for the Neanderthal diet, he rescue Moe from the country, he sings at Apu's gigs, are reporting Wiggum for the crimes and fire Nelson. All has soon their jobs back and Homer is happy again, Rich Texan hire him then as his claims adjuster. It turned out bad idea for the next day was it chaos in Springfield.
