- "We're here! We're queer! We don't want any more bears!"

The Springfield Bear Patrol was an armed service program launched by Mayor Quimby to guard against wild bears in response to citizens' cries based on a brown bear sighting in town.
History[edit]
Following a bear sighting in Springfield, residents demanded action from Mayor Quimby. The mayor established the Bear Patrol, which was deployed throughout the town. Homer Simpson praised the patrol's effectiveness after observing that no bears were in sight. However, Lisa Simpson pointed out that the absence of bears did not prove the patrol was working. The town later introduced a Bear Patrol tax to fund its operations.[1]
