Pages and Images for Deletion
I have been at hard work this afternoon, and I was wondering if you could please delete these pages and images, most of which I tagged for deletion. The list is here. Gazlene the Pork Girl (talk) 22:35, March 22, 2014 (EDT)
- There's been no discussion as of yet about deleting those articles, and I'm not going to zap them unilaterally. If you concur with the deletions, then go to Wikisimpsons:Pages_for_deletion and state your agreement with the nominations. The deletions will happen after there's been a bit more discussion. -- Mythigator (talk) 22:46, March 22, 2014 (EDT)
Featured content
Hello. Month after month I've been struggling to update the main page with new featured content as there's been a lack of decent content to add. Therefore, I'm asking everyone to nominate any decent articles, episodes, images and quotes that fit the criteria. Most importantly is the featured article and episode. However, we're also lacking comprehensive article nominations too. The worst thing is that there is usually very little voting on these, with there only being one or two votes maximum. I'm sorry to send out a mass message like this but the sitenotice seems to go unnoticed. Thanks, The Solar Dragon 08:17, May 1, 2014 (EDT)
Affiliates
Hey, since you're the affiliate guy, can you remove Fish Hooks Wiki and Simpsons Comics News Blog from the list of affiliates? I've completely abandoned them both for over a year now but haven't got round to asking. ~ Phinbart (talk • contribs) 11:30, August 14, 2014 (EDT)
- I'd be happy to take care of it. Just one thing, though: I'm trying to figure out how to access the menu on the left side of the page? I can take those two off of the affiliates page, no problem, but so far the menu has stumped me. And I'd rather not do anything until I can take care of both tasks on the same go. So, how do I get to that menu? -- Mythigator (talk) 08:25, August 15, 2014 (EDT)
- Question withdrawn. Found it, took care of it. -- Mythigator (talk) 08:34, August 15, 2014 (EDT)
References or references?
It seems you put "Cultural References" on the /references pages, when I put "Cultural references"... Not sure if there is a correct one, but wanted to know what you think on it so there's not pulling back and forth with it. | | Talk | Contributions | Edit count | 11:53, August 22, 2014 (EDT)

Simpsons Wikia
Hey Mythigator, so, you may have heard about the Wikia stealing our articles thing again. I've tried to sort it out, but, as you can see here, things are starting to get out of hand. Since you are our representative, I was hoping you could possibly go in and try and diffuse the situation. I can't carry on because things will just become worse and worse. Read my talk page for any other information. Thanks, The Solar Dragon 11:11, November 12, 2014 (EST)
- Oh, also, it may be best if you handle any of the stealing/copyright issues in future. I always seem to end up getting confrontational, which is not the best cause of action. Thanks, The Solar Dragon 11:17, November 12, 2014 (EST)
- I've been following the goings-on a little bit, so I'll do what I can to defuse things. I think it'll help that I've been able to stay on pretty civil terms with the Simpsons Wikia people. -- Mythigator (talk) 11:22, November 12, 2014 (EST)
Mythbusters Simpsons
Hi, just wondering if you've heard about this yet? Mythbusters is tackling a couple of Simpsons things. I know you watch the show, so thought I'd make sure you knew about this. It should probably be added to References in other media once it airs too. The Solar Dragon 09:23, December 18, 2014 (EST)
- I hadn't heard about that, but it sounds immensely cool! Looking forward to it! -- Mythigator (talk) 10:26, December 18, 2014 (EST)
I've created a MythBusters article. I was wondering if you could fill in some more details. Thanks, The Solar Dragon 11:12, January 10, 2015 (EST)
- I'll dive into it after I've seen the Simpsons special episode. My DVR is set!! -- Mythigator (talk) 13:01, January 10, 2015 (EST)
- I'll try and find somewhere online to watch it after it airs too. Just thought you'd know more about the setup of the show than I do so you'd probably be able to write about it better. I also thought the fact it has a whole episode dedicated to The Simpsons is enough notability to have its own article here. The Solar Dragon 14:02, January 10, 2015 (EST)

Blocking?
Hello, some unregistered user just tried making changes to my personal user page, granted it was a very minor edit but it was still uncalled for and made me worry that they could do it again. I checked the policies section and feel it is vandalism but I'd like an administrators opinionBleedinggumsmurphy1 (talk) 02:41, October 21, 2015 (EDT)
- I put a vandalism warning on his talk page, but I noticed that he's been blocked in the past for similar activity. And specifically, for being warned about it and yet continuing with it. Solar blocked him before, so if Solar decides another block is in order, I will be in agreement with it. Also, I put the warning on his page before I saw your message, so please take that as indicating that I agree with you that his change to your user page constitutes vandalism. Regards, M. -- Mythigator (talk) 02:48, October 21, 2015 (EDT)
- This should do it. All unregistered users can't touch your page now. When you feel like change that, just write here. I dunno if you can do it yourself, there's an option on top called Protect or something. Go there and set it if you can ;) LetsPlayNintendoITA 04:14, October 21, 2015 (EDT)
- Bleedinggumsmurphy1 has trusted rights, which include page protection rights. And LetsPlayNintendoITA, try not to remove talk page messages when you add yours (I expect it's accidental, but just preview the changes before saving so you see if you're removing something that shouldn't be removed). I also agree that his change is vandalism, in fact, editing another user's page without the permission of that user is vandalism. / Loco87 ( / Contribs) 07:28, October 21, 2015 (EDT)
- That actually might not do it, as the current vandal is a registered user. But maybe he'll cool his jets now that he's been well and thoroughly caught out. -- Mythigator (talk) 08:13, October 21, 2015 (EDT)

At Home for a While
Back in mid-March, I got an infection in my left hand and needed surgery to clean it out. I was in hospital for a few days recuperating while they decided what antibiotics to put me on. I'm now back home, but need to make daily return visits for bandage changes and further antibiotics treatments. I will be off work until mid-April when the treatments should be finished. Fortunately, I have plenty of paid sick leave accumulated! While my hand is bandaged, I don't have full use of it, so I wouldn't be very effective at work, anyway. So, for now, I should be a bit more active than usual on the wiki – I suppose it could be construed as self-administered physical therapy with the goal of getting my hand back to form. :-) Best to all, M. -- Mythigator (talk) 23:28, April 3, 2016 (EDT)
- Get well soon, mate! LetsPlayNintendoITA 23:49, April 3, 2016 (EDT)
- Hand updates: My last antibiotics treatment was April 10. Lab tests at that point indicated that the infection was gone. My last hospital dressing change was on the 15th. At that time, the doctor examined my hand and said that a simple over-the-counter bandage would be sufficient to protect the surgical wound while it finished healing. I went back to work on Monday the 18th. I still don't have all my finger motion back in the fingers nearest to the wound, but it's good enough for typing at work and is gradually improving. -- Mythigator (talk) 08:23, April 22, 2016 (EDT)
- Good to know. Get all well soon hopefully and you can go back to 100%! LetsPlayNintendoITA 08:46, April 22, 2016 (EDT)

- Quick hand updates: The surgical wound was all healed up around the first of May, so I was able to quit wearing bandages. I started seeing a physical therapist a few weeks ago, and she's given me exercises for restoring both strength and range of motion in my hand and fingers. As before, improvement has been slow but steady. -- Mythigator (talk) 23:05, June 18, 2016 (EDT)

- Another year on, the strength and range of motion in my left hand are mostly all back. There's still some stiffness and numbness in my ring and pinkie fingers due to the scar tissue, but it's slowly improving. I do occasionally lose my grip on things in my left hand, which my doctor has said is most likely due to some nerves being disrupted (but not severed), so my hand ends up glitching once in a while. I'm still doing stretching exercises to work on the scar tissue and my hand still often hurts at night, so I have a prescription for painkillers to calm it down if it's distracting me from falling asleep. In my experience, though, the way it really works is that the painkillers screw up the rest of my brain enough so that I don't give a darn about the hand hurting.
- Keeping in mind the big picture, while I was in the hospital I got checked out from stem to stern and was diagnosed with high blood pressure and Type 2 diabetes. I'm now on medications (and insulin) and my blood pressure and blood sugar are both much better than before. "Bummer", some may say, but I say there are a lot worse ways to find out about those—I could have learned of the blood pressure by having a stroke and/or the diabetes by my eye doctor discovering irreparable retinal damage. Neither of those came to pass, and I have since had an eye exam where the doctor had a thorough look and found no diabetes-related damage, so in the big picture I'm grateful for what happened to my hand. Two erratic fingers are a small price to pay for having better health at 50 than I did at 35! Waxing philosophical on a pleasant summer evening, M. -- Mythigator (talk) 00:06, July 12, 2017 (EDT)

Thank you, thank you! At this point, with the experience I had with my hand in the spring, I'm just grateful to still be alive and in one piece. My hand pretty much has the strength and motion all back; all that's left now is breaking down the scar tissue as it does interfere a little. Cheers! -- Mythigator (talk) 14:15, December 4, 2016 (EST)
Anyone got any I Love Lucy references?
In the recent episode "Kamp Krustier", I noticed a sight gag on a classic I Love Lucy scene. When I thought through the I.L.L. references I already knew of, I realized I had four. Can anyone help locate #5, or even more, and I'll make a references article for the show? A list of the four references I've already found is in my sandbox. Thanks! -- Mythigator (talk) 13:22, April 19, 2017 (EDT)
- Spotted "Lucy" reference #5 while my girlfriend was channel-surfing waiting for another show to start. WooHoo!! But please, if anyone sees any more, please let me know. -- Mythigator (talk) 19:33, June 4, 2017 (EDT)

- That makes a nice mix of references. An Ullman short, four TV episodes, and one comic story. -- Mythigator (talk) 14:23, June 7, 2017 (EDT)

- I did not have that one. Well spotted! I'm working on building an ILL references page in my sandbox; I'll post it in the mainspace when it's ready for prime time. Thanks! -- Mythigator (talk) 13:32, June 8, 2017 (EDT)

Discord
Hi Mythigator. We now have a Discord server for the wiki, which you can access by downloading the Discord app and connecting via this link. This is essentially a replacement for IRC, which is now outdated. And I want it to be a place for discussion about the wiki, Tapped Out and the show. It's a joint server for Wikisimpsons and TSTOTopix. It'd be great if you could join, being one of the active editors on the wiki. Thanks, The Solar Dragon 14:24, May 15, 2017 (EDT)
- Interesting application name. When I saw the name for the new section on my talkpage, I thought you were talking about some sort of disagreement on the wiki. :-P -- Mythigator (talk) 16:59, May 15, 2017 (EDT)
- Haha. No, it's a chat app. Taking over from IRC, which is outdated now. Ideally, I'd like to be able to set up the monthly editor meetings again there. The Solar Dragon 08:14, May 16, 2017 (EDT)
- Maybe it got its name because some tongue-in-cheeky programmer type decided it would be a convenient venue for arguing with one's online friends. :-) -- Mythigator (talk) 12:44, May 16, 2017 (EDT)

Two More Shows with Four References
Since my request for assistance with I Love Lucy was so successful ... In my sandbox, I have two TV shows (The Wonder Years and The Walking Dead) that have been stuck on four references for a while. Can anyone come up with #5 for one or both shows? Thanks in advance! -- Mythigator (talk) 17:42, June 28, 2017 (EDT)
- I found reference #5 for The Wonder Years (the home movie sequence in "Sweet Seymour Skinner's Baadasssss Song"), but I'm certainly still open to suggestions. Cheers! -- Mythigator (talk) 14:38, July 10, 2017 (EDT)
- Found a 5th reference to Walking Dead! / Loco87 (TALK / Contribs) 15:25, July 10, 2017 (EDT)
- Well spotted! I must be way behind on reading the comics ... November 2015 was right around the time I started getting super-busy at work, and not long after that I got sick and had the issue with my hand and assorted other health stuff. Anyway, I will get started on building the reference pages in my sandbox and then put them in the mainspace when they're ready ... in other words, the same process as I Love Lucy. -- Mythigator (talk) 15:48, July 10, 2017 (EDT)
Images
Hey Mythigator. Could you try to convert JPG images to PNG before uploading them. It's just easier to re-upload an image than to replace it when dealing with low quality pics and PNGs have (usually) more quality than JPGs. Thanks. / Loco87 (TALK / Contribs) 19:33, July 10, 2017 (EDT)
- I've never noticed where converting the image format from JPG to PNG ever made any difference in the image quality, so after a few attempts I quit messing with it. Maybe I don't have the right software. -- Mythigator (talk) 20:01, July 10, 2017 (EDT)
- If you convert a JPG to PNG you'll probably see no difference in the quality (well, in some cases, some tiny differences can be noticed). But if the image has poor quality it's easier to re-upload a new version of the file with more quality than to upload a higher quality PNG version of the picture as a new file and then replacing and deleting the old one. / Loco87 (TALK / Contribs) 06:38, July 11, 2017 (EDT)
- I always put up the best-quality images I can find (or screen-cap from a video clip). Sometimes that's not saying much, which makes me appreciate that there are folks on the wiki with access to better-quality images or who have better image manipulation software (or both). My forte is writing and editing; if I'm able to assemble good images to go with the stuff I write, that's icing on the cake. -- Mythigator (talk) 11:04, July 11, 2017 (EDT)
- Frinkiac is great if you want to find images. Just copy and paste into Paint and save as a png. pngs scale better. There's less of a drop in quality with them when viewing them as a thumbnail. And since a lot of images on the wiki are viewed as thumbnails, pngs are generally better. The Solar Dragon 14:40, July 11, 2017 (EDT)
- Frinkiac rocks! I just wish it had seasons later than 17. -- Mythigator (talk) 17:08, July 11, 2017 (EDT)
- Got it down to a routine. Screencap from Frinkiac, paste into Paint, save as PNG. -- Mythigator (talk) 23:49, July 11, 2017 (EDT)

Outsmarted Myself on Google
In a quest for images for the in-progress M*A*S*H references page, I went Googling for references to Hibbert treating kids for brain freeze (a sight gag on the show's opening sequence) while the theme music played in "Yellow Badge of Cowardge". The very first item in the search results was my own in-progress M*A*S*H references page, albeit in a considerably earlier stage of construction. Sheesh ...
Reminds me of one of my online handles. I chose this one for a fairly obscure old-time sci-fi short story character. One of my online friends said the story struck his interest, so he went Googling for more information about it. He was quickly frustrated because most of the hits he got referred to me rather than to the story! -- Mythigator (talk) 00:25, August 9, 2017 (EDT)

Oh, fine. Thanks for this article. :-) --2F13 (talk) 14:37, August 10, 2017 (EDT)

Shawshank Redemption References?
The latest reference hunt is for the 1994 prison drama film The Shawshank Redemption. I'm looking for #5. The four I have are in the following episodes:
- "The Heartbroke Kid"
- "Dumbbell Indemnity"
- "The Wandering Juvie"
- "I Don't Wanna Know Why the Caged Bird Sings"
I thought I'd found #5 in "The Frying Game", but the prison references there are to The Green Mile. Anyone got anything from Shawshank? From the comics, maybe? -- Mythigator (talk) 18:16, September 4, 2017 (EDT)
Found more on IMdB ...
- "Treehouse of Horror V" - Hank Azaria credited as "The Shaws-Hank Azariah" in the closing credits. I've confirmed this one, and the timing is right for it to be a reference to the film rather than the novel.
- The Simpsons: Tapped Out - Chief Wiggum says, "Catch me a Dexter so we can Shawshank him." I don't play TSTO, so I need more context on this one to know whether it's valid.
- "The Man Who Grew Too Much" - Mentioned in dialogue. I haven't seen this episode so I'm not in a position to fact-check it.
- "American History X-cellent" - Prison warden spoofs Warden Norton from the movie; Burns' cellmate has a Rita Hayworth poster that conceals a crucifix. I haven't seen this one either.

Simpsons Wikia stealing content again
Hi, I've noticed that Simpsons Wikia has been stealing content from us again. The user LucienTP has taken the plots that LetsPlayNintendo wrote for The Serfsons and Springfield Splendor. And Jliby30, who seems to be an admin, had taken sections from Annette (Springfield Splendor) and Guthrie Frenel that I had written and pasted them onto their articles there. Could you 1) look into if other content has been stolen 2) talk with the admins and try to come to an agreement about what they do. I don't mind if they either stop taking our content, or link back to us as the source for their content. Refer them to our wiki's license, https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/3.0/ in particular the "attribution" section. I'd do this myself, but obviously, I don't have the best record with Wikia so I feel it would be best if you do this, as you are technically the wiki's representative. lol. Thanks, The Solar Dragon 14:36, October 10, 2017 (EDT)
- Oh, a place to start looking could be season 28 articles there, as LPN has said he thinks some of them might be stolen from here. (check history on Simpsons wikia before making accusations to make sure it wasn't a user here who added it there too). Thanks, The Solar Dragon 14:39, October 10, 2017 (EDT)
- I figure let's just address for now the specific articles you're sure of (Annette and Guthrie, and the two plot summaries) and see what they have to say. -- Mythigator (talk) 15:28, October 10, 2017 (EDT)
- Well, my latest account has been blocked (again) so it looks like it's down to you. lol. There's a thread about the thing here. The Solar Dragon 16:16, October 10, 2017 (EDT)
- I peeked at the discussion thread earlier. It looks like they're handling it, but the least we should do is drop them a "thank you" note. And since they're hell-bent on not talking to you, I'll take care of the note later. -- Mythigator (talk) 16:23, October 10, 2017 (EDT)

I left DJ a nice thank-you note. He addressed the situation and Jliby30 acknowledged it. I made some other observations while I was there, but to go into detail would be delving into issues that are really their business, not ours, and therefore best not discussed here. I may be slow answering as I have several job-search related tasks lined up for the next few days. -- Mythigator (talk) 22:28, October 10, 2017 (EDT)
Springfield Splendor celeb pictures
Hi, celebrities appear on the wall in a scene in Springfield Splendor. I've been able to identify most of them, but some I can't identify. I was wondering if you are able to help? The ones that have been identified are all listed on Springfield Splendor/Appearances already. The pictures are here:

At first glance, the only one I'm sure of that you didn't get is that in Celebs1, the woman on the far left (behind Bart, not mustache-ized) is Lucille Ball. - OK, got a couple more from the Celebs1 image. The pic where Bart is just finishing drawing the mustache looks like David Duchovny, and the one next to it looks like Gillian Anderson (a.k.a. Mulder and Scully from The X-Files). They both have "actor" pages, but only Duchovny has a "character" page. -- Mythigator (talk) 22:07, October 13, 2017 (EDT)
- OK again ... I see on the episode's Appearances tab that Duchovny and Anderson have been ID'ed as Mulder and Scully. If the pictures on the wall are supposed to represent real celebs, rather than the characters they portray, then that's wrong. BTW, one thing that would be helpful is if I could see a list of who has been identified in the images so I don't tie my brain into knots trying to figure out people that are already accounted for on the Appearances tab. -- Mythigator (talk) 23:46, October 13, 2017 (EDT)
- There's a list on the references page. As for Mulder and Scully, that's complicated... Mulder and Scully are both actual characters in the show, as seen in The Springfield Files. Whilst Duchovny has only been mentioned in a book. Therefore, I feel they take the spot rather than their actors. The Solar Dragon 09:44, October 14, 2017 (EDT)
- The list on the references page is helpful, but not what I meant. Let me rephrase ... what I'm wanting to know is which people in the images haven't been identified as of yet. "Fourth person from the left in Celebs3.png", for example, or whatever the case may be. Thanks! -- Mythigator (talk) 12:43, October 14, 2017 (EDT)
- I've managed to identify all but three now, two in File:Springfield Splendor - Celebs2.png and one in File:Springfield Splendor - Celebs4.png. I have put red circles around those I haven't identified. I think 4 may be John Travolta, although I'm not 100% sure on that one. The Solar Dragon 15:29, October 14, 2017 (EDT)
- Figured out the second one in Celebs2. It's Humphrey Bogart as Rick Blaine. The Solar Dragon 15:40, October 14, 2017 (EDT)

Moving the thread back to the left in the interest of readability. Two updates ...
- I concur with the Bogart/Rick ID.
- When I saw the person on the far right in Celebs4, my first thought was Travolta. He does resemble the "Travolta in Homer's dream" image.
Have we given up on the person on the far right of the Celebs2 image where only half of his face is visible, or is that one of the ones you ID'ed before? If the latter is the case, then the only remaining unknown is the one to the left of Ron Howard in the Celebs2 image. -- Mythigator (talk) 15:55, October 14, 2017 (EDT)
- Okay, I'll go ahead and say he's Travolta then. As for the half face, yeah. No point even trying to identify him. And the guy to the left of Howard is annoying me, as I'm sure I've seen him before on the show somewhere. lol. Then again, it was the same with all of them. The Solar Dragon 16:00, October 14, 2017 (EDT)
- The common denominator seems to be that all of the celebs on the wall have previously "appeared" on the show. I know that doesn't help much, as that's true for a lot of people. As for "Mr. Half-Face" (sounds like a Batman villain, lol), does his whole face ever appear in the episode? Even if it's only for a split second, it should be possible to get a screencap. Sorry I'm not able to be more helpful. I had a job interview yesterday which went very well, but pretty much emptied my mental-energy tank. I'm feeling recharged today after a night's sleep (and letting myself sleep in 'til eight), but now I feel like I'm in the beginning stages of catching a cold. Bleah, but cheers and best regards all the same. -- Mythigator (talk) 16:09, October 14, 2017 (EDT)
Hi, asking about the affiliate thingy
Hey there! I sincerely hope I'm not bothering you.
So back in June, I sent you an email about a possible affiliation between my wiki (mlpwiki.net) and Wikisimpsons since we're both wikis based off western cartoon series (more or less, at least) but I never got a reply to my email. Now, if my request is denied, I understand, but I would like an answer at least. Hope that last part didn't sound rude or anything. Hope you have a nice day regardless!--Darkanine (talk) 03:32, November 30, 2018 (EST)
- Not a bother and not rude at all. If anything, I'm the rude dog for not getting back to you. Let me re-visit your wiki over the weekend! -- Mythigator (talk) 21:16, November 30, 2018 (EST)
Plaigarism
Hey, just undone edits made by the same IP who did the Peanuts article on the Breaking the fourth wall article. Just thought I should let you know, I've given them one last warning and told them next time, they will get a ban. The Solar Dragon 09:34, August 12, 2019 (EDT)
- I saw it in the recent changes page. I identified the user at Fandom who did the copying from our Peanuts article; from the timing it looks like it might be the same person as the anonymous IP but there's no way to know for sure. -- Mythigator (talk) 09:58, August 12, 2019 (EDT)
Image for The Jokester
Excuse me, we're lacking an image of Krusty's superhero alter-ego, The Jokester, around here. Do you think you can fix that? You'll find him in the comic story, The Final Collision. --Funshine97 (talk) 16:56, January 15, 2020 (EST)
- Found the image online and added it to the article. -- Mythigator (talk) 01:14, January 16, 2020 (EST)
- Great! Thanks! If there are any "When Bongos Collide!" type characters missing in a particular article, I'll let you know. Deal? --Funshine97 (talk) 01:33, January 16, 2020 (EST)
- That should work fine. I've got a pretty good online source for comic images, and the image quality is generally pretty good. -- Mythigator (talk) 01:57, January 16, 2020 (EST)
- Good to know! :-) --Funshine97 (talk) 02:03, January 16, 2020 (EST)

One "When Bongos Collide!" crossover character is missing
Excuse me. Think you can create a page of The Mighty Smiter? I have an image of him. And he first appeared in The Final Collision.
--Funshine97 (talk) 05:43, February 28, 2020 (EST)
- Yup, should be doable without too much trouble. I went back through part of the story online, and The Mighty Smiter (like a lot of other super-powered characters) is only around for a few frames before he's out of the action. -- Mythigator (talk) 09:49, February 28, 2020 (EST)
- Okeydokey, all done. I got a larger version of the image from my online source (and downsized it on this page). I also added T.M.S. to the Marvel references page, as he's clearly a parody of Thor. I also made a line on the Marvel page for the Fission Division, whom T.M.S. fights, due to their looking like Doctor Octopus. Even though the Fission Division rate a mention and a picture on the Marvel page, I didn't see the point in making a separate character article for them as they don't have any lines and their history in the story is pretty much the same as The Mighty Smiter. -- Mythigator (talk) 12:35, February 29, 2020 (EST)
Article for Spoiler Boy
Hey, now that Bart the Bad Guy aired, can you create an article of Spoiler Boy please? I got an image of him right here. File:Spoiler Boy.jpg --Funshine97 (talk) 10:33, March 2, 2020 (EST)
- Spoiler Boy isn't notable enough for an article. It's just an alias used by Bart. The Solar Dragon 12:34, March 2, 2020 (EST)
- I haven't seen the episode yet, anyway. We have several recent episodes in the DVR that we'll probably have to binge-watch the next time we have some common down time. -- Mythigator (talk) 15:24, March 2, 2020 (EST)
Quick question
Excuse me, there's this one villain portrayed by Sideshow Bob in Don't Cry for Me, Jebediah, but I can't remember the name of his supervillain alter-ego. Here's a sketch-a-day footage of him if that helps. --Funshine97 (talk) 03:00, March 7, 2020 (EST)
- Actually, wait, I have a better idea. Why not create a page of Sideshow Bob's supervillain alter-ego, The Censor? He's from the comic story, Bartman Beyond and I have an image of him right here. --Funshine97 (talk) 07:20, March 7, 2020 (EST)
- Let me check out the story first. :-) -- Mythigator (talk) 12:03, March 7, 2020 (EST)
- Alrighty! --Funshine97 (talk) 13:17, March 7, 2020 (EST)
- Have you checked out the story yet, Mythigator? --Funshine97 (talk) 08:34, March 8, 2020 (EDT)
- I did and I enjoyed it. At first I wasn't quite sure whether The Censor merited an article, but after very brief consideration I concluded that if The Penalizer deserves an article, so does The Censor. :-) -- Mythigator (talk) 16:36, March 8, 2020 (EDT)
- Great! --Funshine97 (talk) 16:39, March 8, 2020 (EDT)
- Oh, hold on. I think someone already uploaded an image of The Censor before I did. --Funshine97 (talk) 08:20, March 10, 2020 (EDT)
Iron Foot
Excuse me, I was wondering if you can help create a page for Lenny Leonard's superhero alter-ego, Iron Foot. Here's a picture of what he looks like. He came from the comic, Clip Clip Hooray! as you will recall (I hated that comic after I first read it by the way, because it takes us back to where we started). --Funshine97 (talk) 21:59, May 22, 2020 (EDT)
- Looking into it, thanks! I reduced the size of the image you posted to make your note easier to read. -- Mythigator (talk) 11:58, May 23, 2020 (EDT)
- He's a Marvel reference, too. Back in the '70s, there was a comic called Power Man and Iron Fist. -- Mythigator (talk) 12:03, May 23, 2020 (EDT)
- Okay, let me know when you got the page finished! --Funshine97 (talk) 18:41, May 23, 2020 (EDT)
- Well, mentioning Iron Foot opened up a bit of a can of worms. It looks like there are two or three other articles that need to be built and/or edited in order to set that particular bit of comicdom to order. I'll be in touch! Mythigator (talk) 00:38, May 24, 2020 (EDT)
- Well, that's fine by me! --Funshine97 (talk) 03:05, May 24, 2020 (EDT)

The Penalizer
Hi, is your Penalizer article ready to be mainspaced? It would help remove another red link. Thanks, The Solar Dragon 11:50, August 17, 2020 (EDT)
- It's close. I'll hammer the daylights out of it over the next couple days. -- Mythigator (talk) 01:21, August 18, 2020 (EDT)
Uploading Files for Images Help
Hey Myth, I was wondering how you can upload and authorize the proper licensing for a picture? I was going to upload a fat Bart picture. Many thanks, --Luke (chat) 10:54, September 15, 2020 (EDT)
- Not sure what you mean. On the "Upload file" page, as you select the image and work your way down the page, there's a "licensing" blank with a drop-down arrow next to it. Just choose the correct entry from the list. Depending on where the image came from, there may be additional info that will need to be added later. Could you tell me more about the "fat Bart" picture? If it's from the episode "The Heartbroke Kid", we might already have it on the wiki and having it on your user page would be just fine. -- Mythigator (talk) 11:54, September 15, 2020 (EDT)
- The link to the picture I found (similar, but higher quality and missing the black outline) is this: https://www.google.com/search?q=fat+bart&rlz=1CAZXHN_enUS917&tbm=isch&source=iu&ictx=1&fir=zcP7AQdKZ7lXMM%252CQQVd0J0AGq-aeM%252C_&vet=1&usg=AI4_-kRQ-tRG_tDObwstM3FPv73rFKipzg&sa=X&ved=2ahUKEwicof6I1evrAhVDOs0KHcxeDHgQ9QF6BAgGEDA&biw=1366&bih=617&safe=active&ssui=on&tbs=sur%3Afmc#imgrc=zcP7AQdKZ7lXMM (sorry for the really long link) --

It's from the episode "King-Size Homer" which means a good-quality screencap will be on Frinkiac. I would do the following:
- Go to frinkiac.com
- Search for rag on a stick (No quotes needed. Image searches on Frinkiac are based on script / dialogue.)
- Select and enlarge the image I wanted
- Copy & paste it from the site into a graphics editor (even something primitive like Windows Paint will work)
- Save it as a .PNG file (best for image quality for the wiki)
- Upload it to the wiki (use some care in naming, see below)
- Select the "episode or movie screenshot" licensing type
- Save the file
- Edit the licensing section, change the info so it reads {{Image Fox|King-Size Homer}} (you will need to add the vertical bar and the episode title)
- Save the file again
- Add appropriate categories. "Images - Characters" and "Images - Bart" would be the ones for this image.
There is already an image of fat Bart from the episode, but it's not the same as the one in your Google search. Just make sure you don't duplicate the name of the image we already have. And that is my "quick & dirty" how-to for finding and uploading episode screenshot images. Good luck and have fun! -- Mythigator (talk) 14:50, September 15, 2020 (EDT)
Infomation for your page on The Penalizer
At the start of the story, Apu throws out some mutant pickled eggs into the dumpster near the Kwik-E-Mart. Off-screen, they go onto a rampage and cause the majority of Springfield to go crazy, as shown by the news report [misidentified as the Penalizer]. Confusingly, the follow-up report features a clip with Skinner (as The Penalizer) running in the background, despite the "evidence of its appearance" dialogue referring to the eggs, not Seymour.
It isn't until Bart is shown the Hypno-Coin by Willie, the Penalizer ends up being revealed as Skinner's alter ego, mainly to search for the "missing" section of the school flag, but it appears other people are continuing to think the mutant eggs are a breed of "Penalizers" as the police chasing one of the mutant eggs is shown in the background. I have a feeling you should make a page on the mutant eggs based solely on my information, as I believe they were causing the rampage the news report was about, not the Penalizer. Confusing. --TappedLover (talk) 16:47, November 20, 2020 (EST)
The Penalizer (again)
Hi, I've been trying to get rid of a lot of wanted pages (finally under 3,000! Woo!) And I noticed that The Penalizer was still needed. I looked at your article in your subpage and decided that it's definitely good enough to be mainspaced. Therefore, I have moved it to the mainspace. if there's any more work you want to do on it, it can be done there. Thanks, The Solar Dragon 17:41, February 21, 2021 (EST)
- Totally cool! The only partI hadn't gotten to was the final battle between Bartman and The Penalizer. Keeping the focus primarily on The Penalizer and not having it wind up all on Bartman was a challenge. -- Mythigator (talk) 08:33, February 22, 2021 (EST)
Ghostbusters
Hi, I just updated the Ghostbusters article from an article about the movie (because it wasn't actually about the movie, but about references to the movie) into a proper references page. I also noticed that you're working on a Ghostbusters page in your userspace. I used some of what you had to get the page fit to actually be on the wiki, but it's very incomplete as it is. Just thought I'd let you know to help you with it since you were working on it. The Solar Dragon 10:02, September 9, 2021 (EDT)
- No worries at all. If it's in my sandbox, borrowing is fine. I'll take a look later and see what else the article needs. -- Mythigator (talk) 21:41, September 9, 2021 (EDT)
Canon policy and episode discussions
Hi, I've decided to redo our canon policy as our current policy is outdated and misses a lot. I have a new page here. Could you look at it and see if there's anything you would change? On the talk page, I have listed episodes that might have dubious canon with reasons for or against them. Could you also add to the discussions there? Thanks, The Solar Dragon 17:58, September 24, 2021 (EDT)
- I saw the banner link and I planned on taking a look over the weekend when I'd have more time and mental space available. It's been a weird week at work. Actually, the whole month of September has been the "Monday that never ended". Also this weekend, I'm planning on taking care of some chores related to adding the Springfield's Battle Royale article. -- Mythigator (talk) 20:33, September 24, 2021 (EDT)
Images request
Hi Mythigator! Both Solar and me (mostly Solar, lol) have been trying to empty the category Low quality images. There are still, however, images from The Marge Book that I uploaded once but that were taken from a low-quality video. I've seen on your merchandise sub-page that you own this book. Would it be possible for you to replace these images?
I'd really appreciate it if you can. --Simpsons88 (talk) 13:53, October 10, 2021 (EDT)
- Got 'em! I cropped the Jane Eyrehead image a bit differently from the original. My inner photography nerd said to put the book off-center in the frame and pick one character's face to include. :-D -- Mythigator (talk) 21:35, October 10, 2021 (EDT)
- Thanks Mythigator, that was of great help! --Simpsons88 (talk) 09:11, October 11, 2021 (EDT)
- Glad to see the merch page being useful. I really only made it to pull it up on my phone while browsing in used bookstores so I wouldn't make any duplicate purchases. :-) If there's anything else I can do, please let me know. -- Mythigator (talk) 11:34, October 11, 2021 (EDT)
- Thanks Mythigator, that was of great help! --Simpsons88 (talk) 09:11, October 11, 2021 (EDT)
"Dead Poet Society"
Would this from 1F09 count? http://frinkiac.com/caption/S05E11/672337 Snowball II (talk) 10:27, April 10, 2024 (EDT)
- Not really. "Carpe diem" is a common enough saying in popular culture that a simple use of it doesn't automatically refer to the movie. -- Mythigator (talk) 14:55, April 10, 2024 (EDT)
