The Longest Daycare is an upcoming short starring Maggie Simpson in 3D. The short is showing before Ice Age: Continental Drift in cinemas.
Summary
Maggie returns to the Ayn Rand School for Tots where her only friend there is a butterfly. Each baby is put through a security gate and when Maggie goes through, it says "Nothing Special". Maggie is then put in an area of the daycare that isn't great.[1]
Production
The producers decided to focus the short on Maggie as it is hard to make a 20 minute Maggie episode, but easy to make a 4-5 minute short. James Brooks came up with the idea of doing a short, similar to the Pixar shorts.[1]
