  • The statue of the man riding a horse says "Swartzwelder," which is the name of one of The Simpsons' writers.
  • We learn that Maggie's real name is Margaret.
  • When Child Protective Services races out to rescue Bart and Lisa, they run over a child's tricycle.
  • In the commentary, it says that the Child Protective Services Male was based on a teacher they had,
  • In the original airing, Milhouse mentioned the box with the infected monkey came from Pier 1 Imports. Because this joke offended the people at Pier 1, it was edited in the syndicated version to a fictional company Trader Pete's.
