Obeseus the Wide and Marjora lived in Rome. Obeseus was brought to Rome as a slave owned by Marjora's father, Gordus Antonius. Eventually, Obeseus' son, Bartigula, became the emperor of Rome.

Other emperors in Rome were Emperor Quimbus and Emperor Montimus. Obeseus was also a senator of Rome.[1]

Rome is mentioned when one of the Southern RV-ers, whom Homer invited to his house, sings his own version of the song "I've Been Everywhere".[2]

Bart was unfairly expelled from Springfield Elementary and enrolled at St. Jerome's Catholic School where Father Sean gave him an issue Lives of the Saints comics to read about how St. Sebastian survived being tied to a tree and shot by a barrage of arrows which supposedly happened on Palatine Hill in Ancient Rome where a church dedicated to him still stands.[3]
