History[edit]

Groundskeeper Willie once tried to tell a joke about golfers from North and South Edinburgh at the Springfield Elementary School talent show.[1]

Willie also once told Principal Skinner and Superintendent Chalmers about a coal miners strike back in Edinburgh. According to him no-one made it out alive, "not even Willie".[2]

Willie used to work at MacWeldon Distillery in Edinburgh, where he sniffed out peat to be used in the scotch. Whilst working this job, he met Maisie MacWeldon and fell in love with her. However, her family disapproved of Willie so the two of them decided to run away to America together. However, Maisie's family told her that Willie had been killed by a sheep, so she never went to America with him. Years later, Willie and Maisie reconnected and Willie went back to Edinburgh to get married to her.

Whilst in Edinburgh, Lisa explored the town and went to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. The Proclaimers Dentists is also located in Edinburgh.[3]
