Groundskeeper Willie's History of Golf is a Simpsons Comics story first printed in Simpsons Comics #63.

Plot[edit]

Groundskeeper Willie discusses the origin of golf. He claims that an early primitive version involved shepherds trying to hit rocks further than their friends, that ancient Romans including Julius Caesar played it, that it was banned in 1457 for military training against the English to the protests of the public, and that Mary Queen of Scots was the first prominent female player. He gives a tip to wear a kilt and drink scotch before playing, and says that the origin date of the sport is unknown.
