- During Lance Murdock's stunt, everyone but Bart covered their eyes.

- The video for "Do the Bartman" premiered after the episode's original airing.
- A short titled "Nazis on Tap" was planned to air after the episode, but was never produced.
- Bleeding Gums Murphy is seen in a taxi when the Simpsons head to the rally. Smithers overtakes them on the way back from the rally.
Continuity[edit]
- The scene of Homer falling down Springfield Gorge has been often used in flashbacks. It is shown (with additional footage) in the episodes "So It's Come to This: A Simpsons Clip Show" and "Behind the Laughter" and is referenced in episodes such "The Blunder Years" and The Simpsons Movie. During the latter, Homer's ambulance is seen still crashed into the tree after Bart and Homer jump the gorge on a motorcycle.
- In "The Simpsons Guy", Homer and Peter Griffin are inside a alien spaceship heading back to Earth battling each other and they both roll over Springfield Gorge and Peter says "We're gonna make it" and Homer replies "Trust me, we're not" and they wind up falling down out the spaceship and down the gorge just like Homer did from this episode.
Goofs[edit]
- When the kids are saying "Booo! Boooo!" to the TV, Lewis Clark's skin changes color from black to yellow.
- Homer is driving the car and if you look closely, the car has two mirrors.
- When Homer dashes up the hill to catch Bart, he is from the car. But when Bart skateboards, Homer is back to the original position.
- When the children are awaiting Bart's arrival at the gorge, Nelson says, "Where is he? I thought he said noon!?" However, Milhouse's mouth is moving to the words, as if he's saying it.
- When Bart does the car jump the second time, Richard, Lewis and Milhouse change where they're standing.
- Chuck Berger is on both sides of the gorge.
