The Power Plant of Pain is a comic story first printed in Bart Simpson's Treehouse of Horror 8. The story was later reprinted in the collection The Simpsons Treehouse of Horror Hoodoo Voodoo Brouhaha.
Synopsis[edit]
Burns recounts the alphabet in a set of twenty-six macabre and gruesome limericks.

- A: Comic Book Guy snaps in the face of declining sales and goes on an axe-wielding rampage.
- B: Dr. Nick accidentally uses the wrong brain whilst creating a bride for his Frankenstein's monster.
- C: The Creature from the Blue Lagoon lures and attacks romancing couples.
- D: A terrorist cell end up tormented in Hell by the Devil.
- E: Homer and Bart are maimed at the circus, after their consumption of peanuts enrages the elephants.
- F: A carnival geek tries dating twin freaks, only to find they are regular non-conjoined twins.
- G: Hillbillies flee from a living garbage monster.
- H: Right-wing conservatives are attacked by a gigantic bleeding heart.
- I: Kang and Kodos lose all appetite for an invasion after examining Homer and finding an undigested meal.
- J: Groundskeeper Willie hangs the jury who wrongfully convicted him in order to get back to their beers quicker.
- K: Snake is attacked by a living Squishee creature whilst robbing the Kwik-E-Mart.
- L: A large lizard attacks Springfieldians with both fiery breath and flatulence.
- M: An eccentric artist goes mad and mutilates her critic into living art.
- N: Burns finds new thrills in dumping nuclear waste.
- O: Cletus wards off nosy IRS agents by maiming them with boiling oil.
- P: Lovecraftian dark gods emerge through a portal in Moe's and get drunk on the patrons' blood.
- Q: The school bullies are sucked down through quicksand in the school sandbox.
- R: Radioactive Man arrives at Dr. Crab's lair to find Fallout Boy strapped to a slab with his brain removed.
- S: A pianist gets a hand transplant from a strangler and proceeds to throttle the other musicians.
- T: Barney dies drinking the runoff from Duff breweries, only to return as a rotting Thing in the sewers.
- U: Maude Flanders returns as undead and takes a bite out of Ned's head.
- V: A vampire gets drunk after draining Barney Gumble and stumbles into the sun.
- W: A werewolf Homer shocks the Flanders family by accidentally mooning them with his hairless behind.
- X: Milhouse scares off the bullies at school using his X-ray vision.
- Y: Apu is confronted by a Yeti whilst hiking through Tibet.
- Z: Burns' nuclear waste dumping causes the residents of Springfield to die of radiation poisoning and return as zombies.
