The Moe and Otto Switcheroo is a Simpsons Comics story first printed in Simpsons Comics #229.

Bart and Lisa get on the bus to school, and Lisa is surprised at how eager Bart is to go to school. Bart reveals that he covered Principal Skinner's desk in chia seeds before the weekend, so he wants to see what it looks like before Skinner cleans it. When they get on the bus, Bart finds that Otto is depressed, which leads to him forgetting to close the bus door. Otto tells Bart that he used to think that bus driving was the second greatest high, but it's been getting on his nerves recently. Bart suggests that Otto go to Moe's, because that's what his dad does when he needs to blow off steam.
Meanwhile, at Moe's, Barney is brushing his teeth with beer, which annoys Moe. While Barney goes to the men's room, Otto comes into the bar and both Moe and Otto reveal that they're depressed with their jobs. Otto thinks that owning a bar sounds great, and Moe always wanted to drive a school bus. Since they both need breaks from their jobs, they decide to switch. However, Otto tells Moe that he has to start right away as he left the kids on the bus outside the bar.
When Moe arrives at the school three and a half hours late, Skinner is surprised to find that Otto isn't behind the wheel. Skinner tells Moe that he appreciates him bringing the kids to school safely, but he can't just let anyone be a bus driver. When Moe lets slip that he has a perfect driving record, Skinner quickly changes his tune and decides that Moe can drive the school bus. Meanwhile, at Moe's, Barney is surprised to find Otto behind the bar and tells Otto that he can't just replace his best friend. Otto offers Barney a free beer, which leads to him quickly forgetting about Moe.
After school, Moe picks up the children to take them home, but Bart is annoyed because he misses Otto. At Moe's, Homer, Lenny, and Carl arrive and are surprised to find rock music playing. Otto tells the barflies that he and Moe switched jobs. On the bus ride home, all the kids are quiet because they're scared of Moe. Bart decides to pull a prank to get them to switch jobs back again. He borrows Milhouse's cell phone from Nelson and makes a prank call to Moe's. When Otto answers the phone, Bart asks for "Anita Bath", but Otto immediately recognizes Bart and accidentally turns the prank back around on Bart, getting him to shout "Anita Bath" multiple times on the bus. Since this plan failed, Bart comes up with a backup plan. He asks Moe if he explained to Otto not to let Homer run a tab. Moe realizes that he didn't and puts his foot down to get to Moe's quickly. At Moe's, Otto is about to let Homer put a beer on his tab when Moe returns and stops it from happening. He tells Otto that he needs his job back because he likes money more than he dislikes the job. Moe tells Otto that he should find another person to swap jobs with.
The next day, the school bus turns up driven by Dr. Hibbert. Hibbert tries to get Ralph to read a map to find the way to school, but they end up getting lost. Meanwhile, Otto prepares for surgery on Hans Moleman at Springfield General Hospital and asks the nurse for more anesthetic for himself.
