Worst Episode Ever/References

Cultural references
- Milhouse is shown wearing My Little Pony underwear.
- When Comic Book Guy is demonstrating the soda-resistant properties of Radioactive Man #1000, the "lesser comics" to which he refers are issues of the comic that started the career of Simpsons creator Matt Groening, Life in Hell (as evidenced by Binky, the star of Life in Hell, standing on a stage on the cover). The logo of Matt Groening's comic book publishing company, Bongo Comics, can also be seen at the head of the cover, in place of a title, despite the fact that Life in Hell has never been published by Bongo Comics. This could suggest that the "lesser comics" line actually refers to all of Groening's comics.
- The name of the comic book hero Biclops is likely a pun on the X-Men character Cyclops.
- Plan 9 Comics is clearly a reference to the infamous movie Plan 9 from Outer Space, popularly believed to be the worst movie ever made.
- Transformers: When Bart and Milhouse fight, Bart picks up a robot toy which unfolds into an axe. Milhouse counters by doing the same, but his robot toy unfolds into a watering can.
- Among the rumors Homer hears on his baking soda trip are: Richard Nixon announcing his resignation as US president and Neil Armstrong when he set foot on the moon.
Trivia
- The episode's title is a nod to Comic Book Guy's popular catchphrase.
- During the video Secret Nuclear Defense Plan U.S. Govt. Film #1612, a map is clearly shown that strongly resembles that of Springfield, Massachusetts, most notably by the large river running through the town intending to represent the Connecticut River. However, it is shown in other episodes that the Springfield of The Simpsons is not in Massachusetts.
- Among the photos of the banned for life from the comic book boy shop as well as Sideshow Bob, Nelson, Milhouse and Bart, there is also
Matt Groening.
Goofs
- In some scenes where the picture Comic Book Guy took of Bart and Milhouse for the "Banned for Life" section appears Milhouse's shirt is red.
- Even though Nelson's picture was seen in the "Banned for Life" section of The Android's Dungeon, he was still allowed in to the magic show that took place there.
- Nelson wasn't actually seen inside so was most likely stopped at the door by Comic Book Guy.
