The Simpsons: Tapped Out Squidport update

The twenty-forth content update, known as the Squidport update, for The Simpsons: Tapped Out was released on June 12, 2013. It added the Squidport to the game. Some other changes were made: the Wiggum House is now classed as a house, the lamp post introduced in the Christmas update was removed, the Springfield Downs' odds were changed, and the Duff Barney Blimp from the Season 24 Yard Sale now has a 'burp' noise when the player taps on it.

Squidport Pt. 1

After tapping on Homer's exclamation mark D'oh! What's wrong, Dad? Oh, that wasn't an annoyed "d'oh" -- I was just thinkg about "dough". Like the delicious fried dough they used to sell down at the waterfront. Get in the car, kids! We're going to the Squidport! Dad, remember? You blew up the town. There is no Squidport. D'oh! That one was an annoyed d'oh. I suppose we could rebuild the Squidport. It'd be nice to see our town finally sterch down to the water. Get in the car, kids! We're going to rebuild the Squidport! Nobody "gets in cars" anymore. We all just walk around aimlessly on the streets. D'oh! Which kind was that? Little of both. The player receives "Squidport Pt. 1" which is to "Have Beach Expansion" and "Have Water Expansion". The player receives total 100 and 10 in reward.

Squidport Pt. 2

Okay, water expansion bought! ...and it was surprisingly easy considering it's prime oceanfront property and all my money is fake. Great! Now can build the Squidport Entrance. You know what they say :"Every great building begings with the door!" Who says that? I dunno, building builders, I assume. The player receives "Squidport Pt. 2" which is to "Place Squidport Entrace". The player receives total 100 and 10 in reward.

Squidport Pt. 3

Mmm, fried dough. A plate-sized blob of wet flour, deep fried and covered with whipped cream... Ow! Chest pains! I need to exercise. By walking a short distance along the boardwalk to get to the Fried Dough Stand. The player receives "Squidport Pt. 3" which is to "Place Boardwalk Sections". The player receives total 100 and 10 in reward. Sign Place the boardwalk section and drag to create a boardwalk.

Squidport Pt. 4

Ah, the Squidport! Full of charming junkies and colorful runaways, attracetd by the smell of carnival food and shady merchants... Wait a minute! My Squidport doesn't have any of that! Dad? Is something wrong? No, Sweetie. Daddy just has to have a talk with some of his real estate partners. STUPID WATERFRONT! EMBARRASS ME IN FRONT OF THE JUNKIES AND RUNAWAYS! The player receives "Squidport Pt. 4" which is to "Make Homer Swear at the Ocean". It takes 12 hours. The player receives total 520 and 110 in reward.

The Old Man and the Sea Pt. 1

Uh-oh, did I blow another brain vessel? I think I'm hallucinating a house out there... in the ocean. No, it's real! It's some kind of house/boat hybrid! Hmmm, I wonder what you call that? The player receives "The Old Man and the Sea Pt. 1" which is to "Place Sea Captain Houseboat". The player receives total 100 and 10 in reward. If the player not placing the houseboat at the water. After tapping on Sea Captain's exclamation mark Y'arr, who be doing all the squalling and cussing at the sea? Ye made me sailors blush. Seriosuly, some of them cried. Sorry, sometimes I have a potty mouth. Anyhoo, who the F@#& are you? Captain McCallister. Just let in from a long haul at sea. Been at Madagascar and at Malabar and spent half a hundred days floating 'round that giant garrrbage patch in the Pacific. Y'arr, that last one tweren't intentional. But sit ye down and have a yarn with the Captain. I'll tell of a ship that near went under, her belly laden with conterfeit Kindle Fires. Eh, I'm not really much of listening to people. Did I mention thar'd be rum by the bucketfull? Yarn away! Don't leave anything out! The player receives "The Old Man and the Sea Pt. 2" which is to "Make Sea Captain Tell a Tall Tale". It takes 4 hours. The player receives total 275 and 55 in reward.

Squidport Pt. 5

After tapping on Sea Captain's exclamation mark Y'arr, the Squidport! This old seadog has spent many a silver here, having me caricature made and eating Dipping Dots. Tho something's diffrent now, can't lay a finger to it. Whait, I have it it's become totally lame. I know, right? You can't buy a fried anything or squoosh a penny into a worthless flat oval. Me men'll get this palce into ship-shape. The finest builders what sailed the seas! It makes sense that sailors would know carpentry. Thy have constantly repair the ship. Aye. We'll start by building a logo store to increse footfalls and up the spill-over effect. Okay, now it's makeing less sense. Sailors must alos be well versed in mall-science and neuromarkering. The player receives "Squidport Pt. 5" which is to "Build the Itchy & Scratchy Store". It takes 24 hours. The player receives total 100 and 10 in reward. After select the building Squidport buildings can only be placed on the boardwalk, ye land-lubbers! Yeah, build on the boardwalk, Land-lubbers! If you lub land so much, why don't you marry it? Y'arr, Homer, don't help. If the player not placing it on the boardwalk You have to put Squidport buildings on the boardwalk, or the pirate guy wil get mad! Pirate?! Aarg, I should keelhaul the lot of ye!

They Fight and Buy-It

After tapping on Bart's exclamation mark Gather togheter your birthday card twEnties and "get wll soon" fives! We're going to the Itchy and Scratchy store! Yes! Luckily I want to the ER Three times last month, so I'm flush with cash! The player receives "They Fight and Buy-It" which is to "Make Milhouse Browse the Itchy & Scratchy Store" and "Make Bart Browse the Itchy & Scratchy Store". It takes 4 hours. The player receives total 450 and 100 in reward. That place is a rip-off, Bart. This Scratchy keychain is clearly a re-painted Garfield with an ax in his head. This Itchy and Scratchy ball bounces funny and makes my eyes water when I semll it. Also, it's tamped with the words "Warning: Not a Toy!" I just found money in my other pocket! What are we wating for? Let's buy more crap!

Squidport Pt. 6

After tapping on Sea Captain's exclamation mark T'is a start, but a short boardwalk is like a peg-leg dancing girl. If she's right there, you'll look at 'er, but enh. Ye need to build more Boardwalk. How do we do that? I mean, I know... but explain it slowly for the people who aren't as smart as me am. Head ye over to the Squidport Entrance and then, er... I don't know, just build it. The player receives "Squidport Pt. 6" which is to "Build a Boardwalk Section at the Squidport Entrance". The player receives total 100 and 10 in reward.

Squidport Pt. 7

After tapping on Sea Captain's exclamation mark Little girl, I need some supplies, where can an old salt get hands on rope and tarps? Are you going out to sea again? Nay, I'm going to an Adele concert and wanted to unfurl a sign that says I heart heer. I've got bad seats so it has to be a big one. Well, the boardwalk used to have a place that sold camping supplies. And it shall again. Fall on, men -- the cheap seats await! The player receives "Squidport Pt. 7" which is to "Have Boardwalk Sections x8" and "Build Malaria Zone". It takes 24 hours. The player receives total 100 and 10 in reward.

Squidport Pt. 8

After tapping on Sea Captain's exclamation mark Y'arr! The boardwalk is coming 'round nicely, but still there's something missing. Mr. Captain, sir? If I could offer a suggestion... a spruce or two could really, well, spruce things up! That's it exactly, matey! You gay men always have the best design advice. Oh, I'm not a homosexual. Neither am I, wink-wink! Now let's get to decorating, girlfriend! The player receives "Squidport Pt. 8" which is to "Have Boardwalk Lampost" and "Have Boardwalk Trees x3" and "Have Boardwalk Fences x5". The player receives total 100 and 10 in reward.

A Flair for Exploration Pt. 1

After tapping on Bart's exclamation mark What kind of store is this? Thermal underwear, waterproof matchs, flares... Oh my God! This stuff is awesome! Fire starter, extra long forks, something that turns pee into drinking water? Why haven't I always been shopping here?! The player receives "A Flair for Exploration Pt. 1" which is to "Make Bart Buy Flares". It takes 4 hours. The player receives total 275 and 55 in reward.

The Old Man and the Sea Pt. 3

After tapping on Sea Captain's exclamation mark Now, my hearties, bring her about and get her braced in a broach and ye can lay to that! Because... um, at three bells... as the crow flies... er... sextant... Is everything okay, Sea Captain? I've been running put of nautical jargon to pepper me conversation with. Which is hard because, ye know, it's my thing. You could pick up jargon from classic tales of the sea like, "Treasure Island" or "Moby Dick". Brilliant! You're like one of them, ye know, light... buildings that shine for boats and stuff when the weather is.. not good... Y'arr, I'd best get to readin'. Squidport Pt. 9

After tapping on Sea Captain's exclamation mark Y'arr! I've learned a thing of three in me travels. Things I'd like ta share with the good folk o' Springfield. Mayhaps a cultural imports store. It's so wonderful that you want to expose pople to the crafts and cultures of distant peoples! N'arr, I just want to fleece tourists the way the locals fleeced me everywhere I went. Maybe unload some tribal gew-gaws I got conned inta buying. The player receives "Squidport Pt. 9" which is to "Have Boardwalk Sections x12" and "Build Just Rainsticks". It takes 12 hours. The player receives total 100 and 10 in reward.

Just Rainsticks

After tapping on Lisa's exclamation mark Ooh, an entire store filled with rainsticks! How can I choose just one?‎ Lis, even you have to see those things are beyond lame. It's a giant, slow rattle.‎ Rainsticks were invented by the Aztecs who believed that by recreating the sound of rain, they could call forth rainstorms to water their crops.‎ Well, they should have invented a stick that recreated the sound of them not being conquered by the Spanish.‎ Wow. That was actually historically accurate.‎ I perk up in class when there's ass-whoopings.‎ The player receives "Just Rainsticks" which is to "Make Lisa Browse for Rainsticks". It takes 4 hours. The Old Man and the Sea Pt. 4

After tapping on Sea Captain's exclamation mark When ye're crossing a great ocean and ye got miles of time ahead of ye, it's the perfect opportunity to hone new skills.‎ Like what? Knot tying, knife throwing, shark punching?‎ Nay! I was able to work up a solid stand up set.‎ Here's my opener: We all know the difference between a Quartermaster and Boatswain, right? 'Bout 20K a year Ba-dum-bump!‎ What language are you speaking?‎ Y'arr, I'm still workshoppin' a lot of this.‎ The player receives "The Old Man and the Sea Pt. 4" which is to "Make Sea Captan Practice Standup Routine". Squidport Pt. 10

After tapping on Sea Captain's exclamation mark ...and I said, "That's as useful as a tall powder monkey!"‎ I don't get it.‎ If he was tall, he couldn't fit in the gunwale which would be hilarious because... aw, forget it!‎ My quality sea-comedy's too good for the likes of you. Ye can amuse yerself with the low-rent antics of boardwalk street performers.‎ The player receives "Squidport Pt. 10" which is to "Get Human Statue or Juggler or Fiddler or Mime or Fire Eater". Squidport Pt. 11

After tapping on Sea Captain's exclamation mark Now this is a boardwalk on which Aham himself would be proud to play skeeball. The Squidport is finally ready for the placement of its crowning jewel. Jewels? You're going to share your ill-gotten treasure booty with us! Stop calling me a pirate! I meant a metaphorical jewel. Something that weill really make the Squidport shine. A fried dough stand? Better than that. An Antique Book Store? Better than that. A hundred foot tall climbing wall that you parachute down from? Well okay, not as good as that.‎ The player receives "Squidport Pt. 11" which is to "Have Boardwalk Sections x16" and "Build the Frying Dutchman". It takes 24 hours The player receives total 100 and 10 in reward.

The Frying Dutchman Pt. 1

After tapping on Sea Captain's exclamation mark Y'arr, to use an old nautical term: Ta-dah!! That's our "jewel"? A crappy food shack? The Frying Dutchman is a charming seafood restaurant! You sell fish sticks. That's not seafood. It's barely food-food. *chomp* I gotta say, *gulp* the boy's right, Sea Captain, this food is... *chew* ...just okay. *gulp* Did I mention it was "All-You-Can-Eat?" Out of my way people, or risk being eaten! The player receives "The Frying Dutchman Pt. 1" which is to "Make The Sea Captian Work at The Frying Dutchman" and "Make Springfield Resident Eat at The Frying Dutchman (20x)". It takes 8 hours. The player receives total 5,875 and 1,410 in reward.

The Frying Dutchman Pt. 2

After tapping on Sea Captain's exclamation mark Yarr! Business is booming! Booming footsteps? Why is the ground shaking? What's that shadow falling over the threshold? Neptune help us -- there's twp o' them! I'm here for your "All-You-Can-Eat" buffet. I have brought my own plate... which is actually a catering pan! Well, I brought my kids' inflatable swimming pool. It's a giant bowl you can sit in. Said pool looks like it deflated. You are so currently just sitting and eating off the floor. At least I'm eating. Touche. Make room for me. The horror. The horror. The player receives "The Frying Dutchman Pt. 2" which is to "Make The Sea Captian Work at The Frying Dutchman (2x)" and "Make Homer Pig Out at The Frying Dutchman" and "Make Comic Book Guy Pig Out at The Frying Dutchman. The Sea Captain's task takes 8 hours. Homer's and Comick Book Guy's tasks takes 1d 12h. The player receives total 2,150 and 550 in reward. Everything. They ate everything. All the food... even the Naugahyde off the booth. T'aren't men, tha're remorseless eatin' machines. Passable. I'll give it 2.5 out of 5 on my blog. By the way, I'll be paying with a Groupon. Squidport Pt. 12

After tapping on Sea Captain's exclamation mark Homer, I'm beggin' ye. What can I do to have you turn your mighty eatin' power elsewhere? Well, the only reason I even came down to the waterfront was to get some fried dough. That's it? That's all we have to do? Yee-haw! I mean... I don't knoe, whatever sailors say when they're happy. The player receives "Squidport Pt. 12" which is to "Have Boardwalk Sections x17" and "Build a Fried Dough Stand". It costs 945. The player receives total 100 and 10 in reward.. There, take it! Eat ye vast yellow whale! Eat yer fried dough! Eat like the great sucking whirlpool you are! Hmmm, you know what's funny? I'm not hungry anymore. I'm feeling kind of nappish.

The Old Man and the Sea Pt. 5

After tapping on Sea Captain's exclamation mark Y'arr, I have depleted the ocean of all her delicious sea life. What Homer did yo my resturant, I did to Posedion's endless wonderland. So, I can see how he'd be sore at me. It's going ta take a bit o' sweet talkin' to get the bounty of the sea flowing again. Turbanites

After tapping on Homer's exclamation mark Hey Apu, they just opened a turban shop! You might want to check it out. Mr. Simpson! That is racist! Why should i have any more intreset in turbans than any other citzen of Springf-- *gasp* Is that a Marathi Pheta? *bigger gasp* In saffron? I've been looking for that. OMG! A rack of pagadis! My credit card is going to get a work-out today! The player receives "Turbanites" which is to "Make Apu Try on Turbans". It take 4 hours. The player receives total 275 and 45 in reward.

Over There

After tapping on Burns's exclamation mark Why, I haven't worn one of these since my days in Bangladesh when I was dabbling in Colonialism. That was back when suzerainty meant something! Squidport Pt. 14

After tapping on Sea Captain's exclamation mark Y'arr, salty air and sand have caused me tattoos to fade. That and the obsessive hand washing broguth on by me OCD.? Time I go in for some fresh ink!? I want one that says, "Peanut Allergy", so I'll never have to worry about losing my medic-alert bracelet. Okay, we're gonna do that thing again where we act like we don't know each other. Yay! That's my favorite Best Friend Game! The player receives "My First Tatto" which is to "Make Milhouse Browse for Tattoos" and "Make Bart Browse for Tattoos". It takes 4 hours. The player receives total 450 and 100 in reward. I've decided! I want a tattoo of Radioactive Man surfing on a wave of lava covering my entire back. Whoa, is that a needle? It looks like a needle, but I'm sure it doesn't--Aaaaaah! I've changed my mind! I'll just go with what we've got. Just a squiggly.. dot. That's gonna look cool, Bart. Escpecially when the scab falls off.

Squidport Pt. 15

After tapping on Sea Captain's exclamation mark Mr. Sea Captain? As much as I love your quaint resturant, there really aren't many breakfast options. What are ye talking about? The swim bladder of a kipper is a breakffast delicacy on Norwegian prison ships. Be that as it may, I think vegetarians would prefer, pretty much anything else. How about muffins? Vegetarians? Preachy blowhards! But I suppose their money's green enoguh. Let's build your Muffin shop!
