- The shot of Mr. Burns looking at Homer listening to the people about after when he returned is stock footage from "Homer's Odyssey".
- Mr. Burn's "hot dog" line is recycled from "Two Cars in Every Garage and Three Eyes on Every Fish".
- This episode marks the first time the United States uses the full version of the current theme music.
