[[Bart]] climbs to the top of [[Mt. Springfield]] in [[Springfield]] with [[Milhouse]] when they're looking for [[Bigfoot]], after they discovered that something smells bad in the area. They find what it was smelling, it was [[Cletus]], which burn tires, Bart tells Milhouse that he came with a good prank, he goes home and trick Homer to look towards the mountain and tellls to him at the smoke from the tire fire it a volcano that has become active. Homer becomes afraid and tells to the family that they must flee, Homer runs with full throttle after he started the car with the family in but gets stopped by [[Clancy Wiggum]]. He says he accelerates because he wants to avoid the volcano and shows Clancy the smoke from Mt. Springfield. Clancy begins to spread the word via his police radio, the TV broadcasts interrupted and they telling that the volcano is active and invites viewers to leave the city. All of Springfield becomes desperate, [[Moe]] ask his friends to pay their debts, [[Comic Book Guy]] thinking about which comics he will retain and [[Joe Quimby]] how much money he needs. They have begun to be traffic jams on the way from Springfield where the Simpsons are sitting, [[Lisa]] looks out to Springfield one last time and think it's odd that Bart does not want to do the same.

The residents of Springfield travel to Springfield Reservoir, where everyone is waiting for the volcano to erupt. Both [[Principal Skinner]] and [[Milhouse]] become desperate, trying to woo [[Edna]] and Lisa, respectively, however neither have much success. Homer is getting tired of waiting and decides to organize a party that begins when they start drinking. [[Arnie Pye]] want to appear as a hero and heads to the volcano via helicopter and discovers the true source of the smoke. In the Name of Lava! is a comic story featured in Simpsons Comics 152.

Plot
