- The movie's plot revolves around Chuck and Larry posing as a gay couple for financial reasons, similar to Moe's adopting a gay image to enhance his business.
- Like Smithers demanding that Moe kiss him in public to prove that he's gay, Chuck and Larry are asked to kiss in public (at a city council hearing) to prove that their relationship is real.
