Homer replied that if he were governor, he’d find better things to do with his time—like getting Washington's Birthday and Lincoln's Birthday back as separate paid holidays—because Presidents' Day is a rip-off.[1]

Springfield Elementary School held a Presidents' Day pageant featuring a parade of lesser-known presidents, a reenactment of Abraham Lincoln's murder in hands of John Wilkes Booth at Ford's Theatre, and a thorough retelling of the life of George Washington.[2]
