Numerous parallels between the two can be drawn, such as Krusty adopting an all-black wardrobe (similar to Hicks and Carlin), and his more cynical, truth-driven material.

  • Java the Hut is a pun on Star Wars villain Jabba the Hutt.
    • The lettering on the coffeehouse's sign is similar to the typeface in the Star Wars logo.
    • Java is also a programming language, whose logo is a cup of coffee inspired by the Java coffee from Indonesia.
  • Krusty says the Canyonero is the "Cadillac of automobiles".
