The Invisible Nerd! is a Bart Simpson story first printed in Bart Simpson #6.

Synopsis[edit]

"Power goes to Milhouse's head after Bart tricks him into thinking he is invisible."

Plot[edit]

Bart and Milhouse are digging around in a dumpster outside of Frink Laboratories, despite Milhouse saying that it's dangerous because of the chemicals. As Bart shifts trash around, chemicals and trash fall out and land on Milhouse, knocking his glasses off. Milhouse can no longer see, due to not having his glasses on, but he believes that the chemicals blinded him. Bart decided to play a trick on Milhouse and pockets the glasses before acting like he can't see Milhouse. Bart tells Milhouse that he must be invisible and Milhouse ends up accepting Bart's explanation. Bart and Milhouse then go off to use Milhouse's new "invisibility powers".

At school Mrs. Krabappel takes the morning register but can't see Milhouse. Milhouse assumes this is because of the invisibility, but Bart had just hid him in the coat rack. At lunch, Milhouse pretends to be the ghost of all the mystery meat Lunchlady Doris used in the food and went to throw a tray of food at her, but the tray ended up falling over him instead. After lunch, Milhouse went into the girls' bathroom, but was trampled by a stampede of girls running out. At The Android's Dungeon, Milhouse runs off with a box of comics, but they were intended to be given away anyway due to the previous owner having chicken pox. At home, Milhouse tries to talk to his mother, but is ignored. Finally, Milhouse and Bart go to the Kwik-E-Mart where Milhouse drinks directly from the Squishee machine, but is caught by Apu. Bart tells Milhouse that brain-freeze can temporarily cancel out the invisibility.

The next day, Bart goes to see Milhouse, who is wearing a ridiculous outfit as he thought it would be funny for the clothes to just be floating in mid-air. As the pair of them are walking, Jimbo, Dolph, and Kearney approach them. Milhouse acts like he's invisible around them, which confuses the bullies at first but they decide that they should pound Milhouse anyway. Bart then argues with his conscience about what he should do, with angel Bart eventually winning over devil Bart. Bart steps in and confuses the bullies until they decide to run away because of Bart using contradictory logic. Bart then puts Milhouse's glasses back on him and tells him that Frink's chemical formula must have finally worn off. As he says that, an invisible Professor Frink walks by, wearing swimming and skiing equipment.
