"Days of Future Future" is the five hundred and forty-eighth episode of The Simpsons and the eighteenth episode of the twenty-fifth season.

Synopsis

"Set in the future, Homer has a new clone for every time he dies. Lisa is married to a zombie version of Milhouse, while Bart deals with custody issues with his ex-wife, Jenda. Each defines what love means to them." [1]

In September 2013, it was announced by show-runner Al Jean that the episode would serve as a direct sequel to the twenty-third season episode "Holidays of Future Passed." It was also revealed that Parks and Recreation star, Amy Poehler, would guest star as Bart's future ex-wife, Jenda, who was previously voiced by Poehler in "Future-Drama." [2]

Al Jean also disclosed that the episode is set 30 years on from 2014 (2044) and that, "Bart is trying to get over his divorce and he does it in a bit of a Total Recall-type way. I won’t give away what happens, but that’s a clue." [2]
