The Simpsons: Tapped Out Wild West content update , was released on April 19, 2016 and was the one hundred and twentyfifth content update. It was teased by EA on the Burns' Casino Act 3 questline, on the App Store on the Burns' Casino Takedown update and on April 17th and 18th on the game's Facebook page.

- The app icon and the splash screen were changed to new ones for the event.
- Post Office flipped detached door was fixed.
- A new building group was added, Bandit Hideouts: Simpson House, Kwik-E-Mart, Brown House, Flanders House, Krusty Burger, Android's Dungeon, (cont.)
- Springfield Penitentiary doesn't show the required quest to activate it anymore and can now be accessed in Early Access.
- A new character group was added, The Simpsons Family: Amber Simpson, Bart, Homer, Lisa, Marge, Grampa, (cont.)
- A new character group was added, Agnes Past Beaux: Chalmers, Mr. Burns, Comic book Guy, Grampa, Willie, Otto, Kang, Barney, Sideshow Mel, (cont.)
- Sideshow Bob's spawn rate if he has not been unlocked and Bob's Victorian House is not bought, has been doubled.
- Wild West event's Daily Challenges were added.
- Dirt tile and Dirt river tiles were added.
- Event Friend Leaderboard was added.
- A new system has been added for jobs to indicate if jobs are blocked, completed, in progress, limited time.
- An icon for animated jobs has been added to the jobs list.
- A yellow border has been added for selected quest on quest book and job list (replacing the yellow text).
- A new row of land was added but it's glitched and tiles can't be added.
- Large Hedge's menu icon now reflects the still going easter look on the item.
- Adjacent roads now look different, the center looks divided in squares instead of a full line.
- Friend Points can now be collected but don't count toward any new FP prizes.
- Many items can now be placed on Dirt.
- Barrier and Monorail Tracks can now be placed on Dirt road, Dirt and Dirt edge.
- Rushing buildings tasks with donuts was removed.
- Quests windows are no longer centered anymore but are all drawn from the same height.
- The ability to send multiple characters on jobs till a quest requiring them is completed by completing other jobs was removed.
- Town land point was set to the Town Plaza.
- Secondary tasks in the task book are united in a box that can be opened to show them.
