Location Information
|
Ogdenville is a city located south east of Springfield, known as the States Barley Basket due to its economy being largely funded by barley farming.
Ogdenville is a city that may be in Springfield's State and is first mentioned by Lyle Lanley as a tows to which he's sold monorail systems in the episode Marge vs. the Monorail. Ogdenville has also been mentioned in other episodes. In "Scenes from the Class Struggle in Springfield", Ogdenville is the home of the Ogdenville Outlet Mall which the Simpsons visit once, although the driving trip apparently takes several hundred miles over nearly impassable desert roads. Ogdenville was mentioned in Coming to Homerica as Springfield's neighbor to the SouthEast. In the same episode it is also described as the State's Barley Basket - indicating that it and SpringField *do* in fact share a state'; it also suggests that it's economy is driven by barley farming, as is most of their culture to the point that they make lemonade with barley not lemons. In that episode Ogdenville's economy collapsed, when a rat got into barley that went into vegetarian krusty burgers. After the economy collapsed many Ogdenvillians immigrated to Springfield. A wall was built in between Springfield and Ogdenville, but it had a door in it. Ogdenville's population is primarily of Norwegian descent.
