Cultural references[edit]
- The episode's title is a reference to the 1963 novel The Man Who Fell to Earth, which was adapted into a 1976 The Man Who Fell to Earth and a 1987 televison program.
- Homer compares the act of attacking a bald eagle to "kicking George Washington in his wooden nuts". This is a reference to George Washington's teeth, which were mistakenly considered to be made of wood.
- Bart and Milhouse are playing Mouse Catch, a parody of Mouse Trap.
- Lisa hints to Tesla when she is describing Elon Musk to Homer. Lisa also says that Elon changed the way Hollywood drives, referring to Tesla's influence among celebrities.
- When Musk tells Homer to keep giving him ideas, Homer says "Don't tase me, bro" and "Chocolate Rain", two videos that went viral on YouTube.
