"Much Apu About Nothing" was the 23rd episode of the Simpsons 7th season
Synposis
It all begins with a bear in the middle of the road. Fladers comes home and is quite scared by the bear and runs to his home. Chief Wiggum shoots the bear with a blow dart, but accidentally mistakes it for Barney. Shortly after he shoots the bear as well. When the Neighborhood see's what the bear did, Homer leads an angry mob to city hall to get the mayor to start a bear patrol to make sure no bears ever come in springfield. The Mayor, (mayor Whimbley)aproves and starts the bear patrol. For the next miniute you see all these high tech vehicles and planes that are apart of the bear patrol. When Homer see's how high his taxes are. He, once again leads another mob to city hall declaring how they they want low taxes but still want Bear Patrol.Mayor Whimbley(makes up) That the reason taxes are so high is because of Illegal immigrants. He says that they will vote on whether to deport these immigrants. Throghout the show you see people putting up signs to vote to deport the immigrants,like at Moes. When homer goes to talk to Apu, Apu tells Him that he is an Illegal immigrant. Apu decides he despratley does not want to be deported so he gets a fake united states citizenship card. After trying to act like an American for 1 day Apu decides he has to get American Citezenship the fair waybecause of a Memory of his Mother and Father telling him always to be himself.He decides to take the United states Citizen test. Homer takes him home and gives him his 9th grade history notes. As Apu studies throughout the night he gets tired and accidentally falls asleep. When Apu wakes up he realizes he fell asleep and did not study as he starts to panic lisa steps him and helps him. You then see him taking the test along with ( Dr.Nick Bummble Bee man, willie, and Moe which is funny because throughout the episode he was being mean to immigrants.)Apu passes and The simpsons throw him a party congradulating him on becoming an American.
