Synopsis

"When Bode, a young charismatic new preacher, comes to town and shakes things up at church, Reverend Lovejoy investigates his mysterious past."

Plot

At the church, the church is almost empty, while a new preacher, Bode Wright from Michigan, arrives in town, hired by Helen on Christlist.

Homer and Marge come for counceling after Homer sells the house, but Lovejoy is interrupted by train whistling and sees Bode sleeping on his train tracks.

Lovejoy keeps having vocal difficulties at the Bingo and in church the next day, so Bode takes his place, who also plays Amazing Grace on his guitar.

His sermon made people come back to the church, including the stained glasses', and everyone start chanting for Bode.

After amazing work he did, the church council fires Lovejoy, in favor of Bode. He helps Homer and Marge and meditates with Lisa.

While the Springfielders get better thanks to Bode, Lovejoy goes to Michigan to investigate on him and finds an article, ready to come back to town and unveil the truth.
