History
Groovy Grove Natural Farm was originally the site of a hippes' commune, where the hippies enjoyed a relatively carefree existence while growing organic vegetables for food. After the radical days of the 60s passed, hippies Seth and Munchie stayed on at the farm and went into business, forming the Groovy Grove Juice Corporation and producing their own organic vegetable juice, called Seth & Munchie's Garden Blast. They continued growing organic vegetables on the farm, only now using the crops to make the juice. They set up production, bottling, and most of the other business functions in the barn.
The business became quite successful, and many people in Springfield enjoyed Garden Blast. In fact, Groovy Grove eventually became the largest organic juice producer in Springfield.
Groovy Grove was also socially conscious, donating half of its profits to war orphans.
Disasters
Groovy Grove Juice Corporation suffered two disasters when Homer Simpson came to visit. The first disaster occurred when Homer wanted to spend some time with Seth and Munchie to enjoy his newfound hippie lifestyle. Homer arrived at the farm to find Seth and Munchie on a break, and the trio played some hacky-sack. After that, Seth and Munchie were going to return to work, but Homer persuaded them to go into Springfield to "freak out squares". As they left the farm, Homer casually tossed his Frisbee in the direction of the barn, where the juice processing equipment was located. The trio had a good time in town freaking people out, but they returned to the farm to find that Homer's Frisbee had ended up in the barn and blocked the bottler's conveyor belt. An entire batch of Garden Blast was ruined, and Seth and Munchie ended up missing a big shipment.
The second disaster occurred when Homer tried to correct the first one. That same night, in order to make amends for ruining the juice during the freak-out, Homer harvested the remaining vegetables, put them into the juicing equipment, bottled the juice, and delivered the juice to every store in Springfield. The next morning, Homer explained to Seth and Munchie what he had done overnight. They were puzzled at first, because there weren't enough vegetables left to make the whole batch. Homer said he'd noticed the same thing, so he also harvested the other garden—"the one with the camouflage netting"—to have enough vegetables to make the batch of juice. That "other garden" was Seth's and Munchie's personal crop of peyote, which meant that Homer had just delivered hallucinogenic juice all over town. Many townspeople drank the juice and had bizarre hallucinations. One of the people who drank the spiked juice was Springfield Police Officer Lou, so the police were very quickly aware of what had happened. The police raided Groovy Grove, and presumably shut down the farm and the business afterwards.
