In a spin-off of The Simpsons, Chief Wiggum travels to New Orleans to become a private investigator. He is joined by his son Ralph, and Principal Skinner, aka "Skinny Boy".[2]

Behind the Laughter

The song about New Orleans that was sung in "A Streetcar Named Marge" generated much controversy from the city because of its lyrics. An apology was made, in the form of a chalkboard gag in the following episode, in which Bart writes "I will not defame New Orleans" repeatedly on the chalkboard.
