Synopsis[edit]
- "When Lisa spots a new best friend from the window of the bus, she gets a taste of what life could be like with a different, more cultured family, and proceeds to try and live a double life."
Plot[edit]
Kent Brockman presents This day in Springfield history, where the origins of the School Bus is shown, then shown in the present day all ruined, with the children's all causing chaos, and Bart wants to go for the Lunch-Boxeo middle weight title, but Lisa tells him they'll never unify the titles. The match with Nelson starts, while Lisa starts singing, when she meets eyes with a girl on the sidewalk, playing the clarinet.
At dinner, the family reunites to watch U.S. Ninja Ultimate Beast Blaster on the couch, while Lisa tries to tell them about the girl she saw. The next day, Lisa has Otto stop the bus after more ruckus was caused, and she stops at The Promenade on the Grove at Springfield Heights, where the girl, Sam Monroe, lives, but at her house she hears her cry.
Lisa enters her house and admires the nice house. Hearing Sam cry from her room she comes up and starts talking and playing music with her. She has dinner with her family and then watches them play music, just like their daughter. Going back home she feels depressed from how different and low it is, with them completely ignoring her and her questions.
At Sam's house, they ask about her family, but with the fact that her father announces that they're going to move soon, she lies about them, but when they drive her home, her plan was going to fail till she uses Ned Flanders as a father to avoid any problem, but due to a change at his work, the next day she finds out they're not moving and want to meet Marge, so she lies saying her parents are moving out, so they invite her to stay with them.
The plan is in motion as she leaves every night and comes back home in the morning, but is found out by Marge one night, having being informed by Ned, and has to spill the bins. Marge forces her to invite Sam family over, to prove Lisa that she doesn't need to be embarrassed. The dinner goes good and they try to act good, but when it starts to be too much, she admit the lie. The dinner goes well afterwards, with both families reconciling and hugging, while Bart shows them how he renovated his room to be an entertainment one, and offers them the beer. After the dinner, Bart invites many Springfielders to a party in the room, where Homer is not invited.
