"Shoddy Heat" is the fourth episode of season 36 of The Simpsons and the seven-hundred and seventy-second episode overall. It originally aired on October 27, 2024. The episode was written by Jeff Westbrook and directed by Gabriel DeFrancesco. It guest stars Topher Grace as Billy O'Donnell.

Synopsis[edit]
- "An unearthed corpse opens up a cold case from Springfield in the 1980s… as well as a steamy relationship between young Grampa and Agnes Skinner."
Plot[edit]
It's a really hot day in Springfield and when the cooler breaks down at their house, the Simpson family go to the Retirement Castle, a place where old people always complaining about being too cold. There, Grampa blocks the cool air from Homer and he threatens him to put him in a nursing home for veterans. Grampa calls for elder abuse and the police arrives, but for a different reason, they need help in an investigation at Shady Oaks. In there, after digging graves, Chief Wiggum reports finding two bodies in one, with one of them having a business card for "Simpson and O'Donnell Detective Agency", and Grampa reveals he was a private detective.
In 1982, Agnes Skinner showed up at the Simpson and O'Donnell Detective Agency and asked Grampa and Billy O'Donnell to follow her boyfriend, Mr. Burns, as she suspects him of cheating. Due to Grampa having to babysit Homer, Billy proposes to go with Agnes, but Grampa tells them he never got back and he made new cards saying "Simpson and Nobody". Wiggum leaves Grampa alone, but Lisa doesn't wanna stop and uses her forensic kit for traces of blood and find AB-negative on it. At the DMV, with the help of Patty and Selma they find out that Billy was AB-negative.
Lisa takes the folder to Grampa and tells him they found Billy's car where today is the Power Plant and Grampa tells her she's messing with things she should let lie. But Lisa kept insisting, and he started telling more, that he went on searching him but he couldn't find him, or Agnes, till he was tipped by a clerk at Leg Warmers and Nothing Else that he'd find her at the Springfield Squidport.
