Continuity
- After Homer makes Maude believe Ned had a heart attack, he says "And that's the end of that chapter" - the catchphrase of Homer Simpson on Police Cops in "Homer to the Max".
DVD release
- The episode was released on The Simpsons.com with the "Itchy & Scratchy Land", "Das Bus" and "Homer Goes to College". According to the eBay information it has, "Homer to the Max" was on it, but in real life, "Homer to the Max" was not included on it all.

Along with every other "Treehouse of Horror" episode up to "XVI", this episode aired as part of The Simpsons Treehouse of Horror Mania.
