History

San Diego and Maine are in the lyrics to "Talkin' Softball" as each representing the opposite ends of the United States.[1]

After the school successfully cancels the students' music, art and gym programs, Bart gripes to Lisa: "You made this school even worse, and it wasn't exactly San Diego State to begin with."[2]

Fit Tony, who later became "Fit-Fat Tony" and then just "Fat Tony," came from San Diego.[3]

The Simpsons family and Matt Groening are taking part in a panel at the San Diego Comic Fest.[4]

The tour guide at Petrochem Petrochemical Corp., makers of Malibu Stacy dolls, played a corporate promotional video for Lisa and Marge which had Smithers, owner of the world's larges collection of Malibu Stacys, saying to the camera, "I'll see at Stacy-Con '94 at the San Diego Airport Hilton."[5]
