Cultural references

  • The title of the episode is a reference to the play My Fair Lady.
  • The first scene right after the opening is a parody of The Jetsons:
    • Homer as George Jetson.
    • Bart as Elroy Jetson.
    • Lisa as Judy Jetson.
    • Marge as Jane Jetson.
    • Bender from Futurama also appears at the end of that scene.
    • Laramie Jr. is a reference to Laramie Cigarettes
  • Lenny is glad that Moe has the opportunity to attend a Laney Fontaine show. He says she is funny and full of Hollywood stories, and gives the example of Jimmy Stewart being a "super-nice guy". Stewart was famous for many "nice-guy" characters he played in many movies.
