The Sitcom parodies cough gag is a parody of various sitcoms.

Plot

The Simpson family arrives on sets of various sitcoms, dressed as the main characters.

The first one is the one from The Honeymooners. They look around confused, with Maggie popping out of the purse on the table, just before running out of the door.

The second one is the one from The Dick Van Dyke Show. Homer tries to kiss Marge, but she covers his lips and points at the kids, all sitting on the couch. Homer runs to the couch, trips on the table and everyone laughs at him, before running out of the door, with Homer getting up and following them.

The third one is the one from The Brady Bunch, they run up the stairs and smile at the camera, before Lisa gets hit in the face by a football (as Marcia Brady did in one of the best-known episodes), leaving a large blemish on her nose.

The last one is the one from Cheers, where they run to the bar and get ready to eat the meal they setup, but Sideshow Bob (an inside joke: Sideshow Bob is voiced by Kelsey Grammer who appeared on Cheers for most of its 10 year run), enters the bar, scaring them away.

At the end, they end up in their own home, sitting down on their couch, letting out a sigh of relief.
