References to Home Alone in The Simpsons

Picture Season Episode number Episode name Reference
3 50 "Homer Alone" The title is a pun on the film. Later, when Homer notices Maggie is missing, he also strikes the movie poster pose.
5 87 "Marge on the Lam" Homer told the kids that if a burglar comes when he's away, it will be a humorous and entertaining situation, citing the film as reference.
6 114 "Fear of Flying" After their flight is cancelled The Simpsons return home. Once there Homer wonders whether they haven’t forgotten something? A cutaway then shows Granpa still on their plane yelling in fright while holding his hands to his cheeks. This parodies both Macaulay Culkin’s famous pose on the movie poster, as well the overall situation of the first movie, when Kevin's parents only realize on their flight that they’ve left the boy home alone.
13 280 "The Bart Wants What It Wants" Moe asks Rainier Wolfcastle’s authorized lookalike how much lookalikes make, because some people say he looks like Macaulay Culkin. He then even strikes the movie poster pose.
14 300 "The Strong Arms of the Ma" When Marge shouts "I'm not afraid" as she goes outside for the first time is very similar to the scene in Home Alone where Kevin goes outside after being scared shouting "I'm not afraid anymore!".
Macaulay Culkin.png 20 423 "Double, Double, Boy in Trouble" Bart notices Macaulay Culkin in Springfield Heights, striking the same pose as the film.
21 442 "Homer the Whopper" Lyle McCarthy called Homer "Home Alone" as one of his "Home"-based nicknames for him.
