Corbin Everly's brain, also known as Buddy, is the brain of the deceased Corbin Everly.

History[edit]

After Bart sold Grampa's old war gear for $100 store credit at Herman's Military Antiques, he went looking around the store and saw a brain in a jar. Bart decided to buy the brain so he could use it to pull pranks. His final prank with the brain was to reveal it to everyone at school, during lunch in the cafeteria. Bart doing this resulted in several children puking, resulting in Hurl-ey Gates Vomit Cleanup being called in to clean up the mess. While Principal Skinner and Superintendent Chalmers were discussing what punishment to give to Bart, Ms. Peyton suggested that Bart be made to look after the brain like a child as homework, and to record everything in a journal. Ms. Peyton then decided to give similar homework to the whole class, having them look after eggs instead.

Bart quickly got fed up of this homework since he only wanted to use the brain for some pranks and wanted to move on from it. When Bart decided that he wanted some time away from the brain, he gave it to Homer to look after and then went to play games with Milhouse. However, when he was at Milhouse's house, everything started reminding him of the brain. Bart then decided to leave early so he could get home to the brain. When he got back, he found that Homer had taken the brain to Moe's Tavern. When Homer finally got back home, Bart was horrified to find that Homer had brought back the jar of pickled eggs instead.

Bart rushed to Moe's to get the brain back, but found that Moe had put it in the alley out back for the raccoons. Bart went into the alley, only to find that the brain wasn't there, but packets of Puff Jerky led Bart to find the bullies in the Mattress King parking lot. Bart took the brain back and realized that he had become very attached to the brain. He then decided to name the brain "Buddy".

After becoming attached to Buddy, Bart started to take the homework more seriously and filled in his journal. He also took the brain with him and the family to Luigi's, which disgusted Luigi so much he put the Simpsons in the freezer to eat. Bart's attachment to the brain started to make Homer and Marge worry that he was going to become known as "Brain Boy" to everyone. At school the next day, Bart got an A+ for his homework journal. When Ms. Peyton revealed that all the eggs were being taken away by Willie, Bart refused to let go of Buddy, despite Ms. Peyton telling him it could stay in the science lab. That day, Homer realized that everyone thought Bart was weird because of the brain and told Marge about it. The family then decided to keep Bart isolated as much as possible and went to church without him. When Bart found that they were leaving without him, he realized that it was because of the brain. Bart then turned up to church as it was in session, with the brain, and interrupted the service. As Bart started talking to everyone about the brain, saying that it had always been there for him, the label for Herman's Military Antiques fell off, revealing a label saying that the brain was from Corbin Everly and was donated to the Springfield University on June 23, 1975. When Lisa looked up who Corbin Everly was, she found that he was a public accountant. Bart became saddened by the brain being a nerd's brain and decided to return it to the University by putting it on a skateboard and sending it down the road. Professor Frink then picked up the brain and told it that he had missed it.
