History

When Bart showed a brain in a jar to the kids eating in the Springfield Elementary School cafeteria, many of them ended up puking. This led to Hurl-ey Gates Vomit Cleanup being called in to clean up the mess.

Behind the Laughter

The name "Hurl-ey Gates" is a reference to the informal nickname of the gateway to Heaven, "pearly gates".
