Production staff cameos
This is a List of staff members who have appeared in The Simpsons. Various writers, animators and producers have been inserted into shows as background characters. While these are often minor and non-vocal, there are a few instances where these characters have lines, such as in "The Front" and "The Itchy & Scratchy & Poochie Show". Matt Groening and James L. Brooks have both voiced themselves in episodes.

Conan O'Brien
- "Bart Gets Famous": Conan guest stars as himself, and Bart appears on his talk show.
- "Radioactive Man": When Homer is flipping through channels, he passes Conan's show.

Tress MacNeille
- "The Simpsons Spin-Off Showcase": The character Betty is a cariciture of herself. Betty is also played by her.

- "The Itchy & Scratchy & Poochie Show": He is part of Itchy and Scratchy's writing staff and gets fired.
- "Realty Bites": He appears behind Kirk Van Houten at the unemployment office.
