Bart took an interest in the book Johnny Tremain set during the Amercan Revolution so Marge suggested they take a field trip to Olde Springfield Towne. The guide explained during a slideshow how Jebediah Springfield led a charge in the Battle of Ticonderoga, but he is also credited with whacking a snake on the first "Whacking Day" in 1775. Bart noticed a discrepancy and asked how Jebediah Springfield could be whacking a snake in Springfield on the first Whacking Day and also at the Battle of Ticonderoga as both would have been on the same day: May 10th, 1775.
