Gloria Grand: That's the third one this week who doesn't understand my idea—To re-create a news story and show it to the television audience instead of just sitting in front of a camera reading it! No one seems to get it!
Claude Kane III: [Chuckle] You just might be ten years ahead of your time, Gloria!

Claude Kane III: [thinking] I must persuade Gloria to change her mind! I can't let her see how much I resemble Radioactive Man when dressed in a Radioactive man costume-- --Because I and Radioactive Man are, in reality, one in the same! I must find a way out of this before I'm put on the spot to remove my hat, which would expose the jagged shrapnel lodged in my head! And what if she notices the difference between the phony bolt and the real one??

Rod Runtledge: [thinking] Sure, it's easy for me to get on my high horse with my fellow classmates and try to make points with universe professors... ...But is it because I'm now compensating since the loss of my super-powers? Or is it all part of growing up? Soon I'll be graduating high school—Then what? At least now I get to go on all these field trips to universities that want my tuition...!

Gary Michaels: Young man, I'm a very tolerant person! I allowed the yippies to audit classes for free-- --Even after I was held hostage by them! You're too young to remember, but the sixties was when it all hung out! But now it's the seventies and time to tuck it back in! A time to reflect on what was torn down in the sixties, to rebuild for the eighties-- --So the repression of the fifties won't resurface in the nineties—And we can build a bridge to the twenty-first century--

Radioactive Man: I should never have allowed Rod to go on that field trip to the university-- --I told him there was only one college worth going to: The School of Hard Knocks! Ah, it's not like Rod hasn't had his share of bummers-- --He had to walk away from a semi-successful career as a super-hero sidekick to take a position as a glorified sob-sister on his school newspaper! Rod seemed to be able to say good-bye to Fallout Boy with no regrets-- --Would I be so ready to ditch it all and lead a normal life—with jagged shrapnel sticking out of my head?

Radioactive Man: Let me get this straight—You're a self-made multi-millionaire from your famous scientific inventions, yet you're willing to spend whatever it takes to satisfy the Undergrounders' demands? Isn't that going to be a wee bit... expensive?
Claude Kane II: Oh, yes!! It's going to wipe me out! But a young boy's life is in danger... You see, he's the ward of my son, Claude. But I can't locate the lazy lout! That layabout socialite is probably at some nightclub while his ward's life is at stake! Well, once my fortune is drained, Claude will become destitute—Maybe that'll teach him some responsibilities!
Radioactive Man: [thinking] Jeepers! I need dad's allowance to free my time to fight crime!

Rod Runtledge: ...Don't blame yourself, Claude—There's no way you could've known I was leaning up against that wall... Too bad you had to pick just that spot to break through!
