Playboy is an American men's magazine founded by Hugh Hefner in 1953. It features photographs of nude women, but also offers articles, cartoons, columns and comics. It has often been referenced in The Simpsons. The magazine Playdude is a parody of said magazine.

Unaware what the magazine is all about they start mimicking its lifestyle, complete with Bart dressing up as Hefner, listening to jazz music and modelling their treehouse after the Playboy Mansion. 17 358 "The Girl Who Slept Too Little" Milton Burkhart says that he became a children's author because his cartoons for Playboy were deemed too filthy. 17 360 "Treehouse of Horror XVI" Moe Syzlak is dressed as Hugh Hefner for Halloween. 22 478 "Angry Dad: The Movie" Homer and Bart hang out at the Playboy Mansion amidst Hugh Hefner and some Bunnies, where Bart is chased by peacocks. 28 616 "Looking for Mr. Goodbart" In the couch gag several moments from past Simpsons episodes are referenced. Among them a painting of Marge with Maggie's face censuring her breasts from an old real issue of Playboy.

The Simpsons

In October 2009, it was announced that Marge would be featured on the front cover of the November issue of Playboy. The edition was first published on October 16, 2009. The cover and a three-page picture spread, as well as a story inside entitled The Devil in Marge Simpson, was a celebration of the 20th anniversary of The Simpsons, but was also part of a plan to appeal to younger readers. Chief executive of Playboy Enterprises, Scott Flanders, has said that the cover and centerfold were "somewhat tongue-in-cheek". Julius Preite also served as the illustrator and art director for the Marge Simpson Playboy issue.^[1]
