Olde Springfield was created when, after a dispute about area codes, Homer declared he would create his own town, dubbed "New Springfield". The citizens that didn't go to New Springfield then formed Olde Springfield.
History[edit]
After the area code change, Homer and the part of town that had a changed area code left to form New Springfield, while the rest of the town that kept the old area code became Olde Springfield. The mayor of the town was Joe Quimby. It was shown that most of the rich people lived in Olde Springfield, and they had all the stores with food. A wall was put up between Olde Springfield and New Springfield. After much quarreling (and Olde Springfield often succeeding), the wall between the two towns was torn down by The Who, who were performing. As a result, the two towns became one again.
Behind the Laughter[edit]
- The spelling of Olde is an ancient way of spelling Old.
