Good Cop, Bart Cop! is a Bart Simpson story first printed in Bart Simpson #77.
Synopsis[edit]
Bart and Ralph are teamed together as part of a new program called Kid Cops, but when it comes down to it, which one is the good cop, and which one is the bad cop?
Plot[edit]
Bart has incited a riot at Krusty Burger after claiming that the Krusty Kid's Meals are made with real kids, and he gets arrested. Chief Wiggum gives Bart two options: go to juvenile hall or join the Kids Cops with Ralph Wiggum. Bart chooses to join the Kids Cops, whose mission is to help children who need help with crime. Bart also receives the order that if anything happens to Ralph, he will go to juvenile hall anyway. Their first crime is to stop Jimbo, who has stolen Wendell's allowance. They chase him to a dead end. Just before Jimbo tries to beat up Ralph, Bart finds a packet of salt and pepper, opens it and tries to throw it at Jimbo, but instead he throws it at Ralph, making him sneeze, and Jimbo gives up. Bart and Ralph then give Wendell back his money.
The next day, Bart and Ralph have a new assignment as Kids Cops. Their mission is to stop Kearney and Dolph, who stole Sherri and Terri's bikes. Bart and Ralph chase them throughout Springfield, and during the hunt Kearney and Dolph decide to ride away to Shelbyville because the police cannot catch them there. Ralph starts to fall asleep on his way to the Springfield Gorge, but Bart manages to wake him up on time. Then Ralph yells to the guys to ask why they are riding girls' bikes. When they realize this, they jump off of the bikes and run straight into the arms of the kids of Shelbyville. After the mission is complete, they report this to Clancy and learn that they have cost a thousand dollars in mass destruction during the hunt, and he aborts the project when Lou says that Michael refused to talk to them. Clancy decides to rehire the boys to get Michael to confess his crime, which he does after he sees Ralph in an upside-down candy pumpkin. He also tells them that that his father sent a box of donuts to the station, and one of them contains a bomb.
Clancy is happy about what they have done and tells Bart that he has finished his mission, but when Bart sees that Ralph is sad that Bart is leaving him, he decides to continue for a while. Ralph and Bart go downtown for new missions while Clancy goes to eat one of the donuts that Fat Tony sent, but while the boys leave the police station one of the donuts explodes.
