Philip Edward "Phil" Hartman (born Philip Edward Hartmann; September 24, 1948 – May 28, 1998) was a Canadian-American comedian, film and television actor, graphic artist, and screenwriter. He voiced Lionel Hutz, Troy McClure, and other characters, until he was murdered by his third wife, Brynn, who committed suicide after she killed him, at the age of 49.
