History[edit]
After deciding to take Maggie to a place she would enjoy, the Simpson family visited Storytown Village, designed for young children. During their visit, they explored attractions based on classic nursery rhymes. Several incidents occurred during the visit, including Bart damaging the trolley ride when he ignored the height restriction, causing the ride to collide with a statue of Paul Bunyan, and Maggie becoming surrounded by animals before being rescued from a llama. The family later left the park after enjoying the attractions, although their car had been broken into while they were inside.[1]
Some time later, Storytown Village was renamed Storytime Village and eventually went out of business following an accident in which a child was decapitated at the park. The abandoned park was donated to Ned Flanders, who converted it into a Christian theme park called Praiseland, which itself later closed down due to a gas leak.[2]
Among the nursery rhyme characters seen were Mother Goose, Three bears, Three little pigs and Big Bad Wolf, Humpty Dumpty, Little Miss Muffet, Frog Prince, Little Bo Peep, and Paul Bunyan and Babe the Blue Ox.[1]
