Sesame Street is an educational television program designed for preschoolers, and is recognized as a pioneer of the contemporary standard which combines education and entertainment in children's television shows.

When asking who he likes better, Ralph says that he likes Elmo. On a talk show, it is asked if Ralph can go from Sesame Street to Pennsylvania Avenue.
- "Funeral For a Fiend" - Moe watches the DVD in the Hibbert's car, showing Big Bird in China. He wonders if Grover would be lonley, but it turns out he is with Derek Jeter.
- "Dial N For Nerder" - Maggie switches to Elmo's website after realizing the family may be watching her play online poker.
- "Eeny Teeny Maya Moe" - Costumed version of Big Bird, Elmo and Count von Count are waiting for the rink to clear to perform Seaseme Street on Ice
- "The Color Yellow" - Ralph's picture includes Elmo
- "To Surveil With Love" - Maggie is seen watching a security camera which she thinks is Seaseme Street, but is actually a gay bar with people who looks similar to Bert, Ernie, Big Bird and Oscar the Grouch.
- "Treehouse of Horror XXI" - In Dracula-la Land, Count von Count is seen biting Big Bird for blood.
References to the Simpsons
The Simpsons appeared in the celebrity version of the Sesame Street song "Monster in the Mirror." The Simpsons replace two monsters on a wall painting, and at the end, Homer reprimands Bart (who yells "Hey, wubba man!").
