James Lipton (September 19, 1926 - March 2, 2020) was an American writer, lyricist, actor and dean emeritus of the Actors Studio Drama School at Pace University in New York City, best known for his television show Inside the Actors Studio, which has aired on Bravo since 1994. He voiced himself in the season 13 episode "The Sweetest Apu" and the season 22 episode "Homer the Father". After his death, the season 31 episode "Screenless" was dedicated to him.
