- The plot of the episode is a reference to the recent Tipflation.
- Lisa says that Homer and Marge were "punking" them, and Bart says that they are getting "funk'd", a reference to the reality TV series Punk'd.
- During the check-ups at the Springfield Medical Plaza, the song "Price Tag" by Jessie J and B.o.B plays.
- Marge got a full back tattoo honoring Timothée Chalamet removed.
- The way Maggie puts on the sunglasses is a reference to the CSI: Crime Scene Investigation spin-off CSI: Miami and the Horatio Caine "sunglasses moments" cold opens in the show and the popular meme associated with it.
- Boba Fete Tea Shop is a reference to Boba Fett and it resembles the Mos Eisley cantina from Star Wars.
