Play Information
|
Bloody, Bloody Jebediah is a musical directed by Marge Simpson and written by Lisa Simpson.
History
After practicing for the musical Oklahoma! broke down due to Llewellyn Sinclair being difficult, Marge took over directing and they decided to make a musical about Jebediah Springfield instead. Krusty also came on as a producer, offering to air the musical live on TV. Sideshow Mel was originally to star as Jebediah Springfield but he quit to star in The Tempest instead. At auditions for a new Jebediah Springfield, Marge heard Professor Frink's singing voice and chose him to be Jebediah Springfield.
During the airing of the play, it started to rain heavily. As such, the play had to be reworked slightly to fit the weather. Eventually, a large part of the town was under water as the play finished.
Behind the Laughter
The play is a parody of Hamilton, which was Lisa's intention.
