Happy Non-Specific Semi-Festive Winter Gathering (subtitle: Optional Joyful Feeling Requires Parental Permission Slip) is a Simpsons Comics story that appears in The Simpsons: Holiday Humdinger.

Plot

The students and staff of Springfield Elementary School take part in the Happy Non-Specific Semi-Festive Winter Gathering in the school's gymnasium.

  • Principal Skinner exhorts the children to decorate the "non-holiday un-tree" with hall passes and mint-free sugar sticks. Mrs. Krabappel sardonically tells him to give it up.
  • Kearney, Jimbo and Dolph, dressed as the Three Wise Men, do a shakedown on Wendell, telling him that this year they are collecting gifts.
  • Sherri, Terri, Janey and Database sing the chorus of "Convoy". Superintendent Chalmers seems perturbed at the selection, but Miss Hoover tells him it was either that or "Pac-Man Fever".
  • Ralph, wearing a diaper and posing in a manger setting made of assorted items found in the school, says, "I'm the baby genius!"
  • Groundskeeper Willie, portraying Santa Claus, listens to Milhouse saying what he wants for Christmas, but quickly gets sidetracked into going on a tirade about what he (Willie) wants for Christmas.
  • Üter contributes an assortment of giant candies (a chocolate kiss, a candy cane and a chocolate reindeer) from his private collection to the gathering and encourages the children to ear until they are sick. (Each candy is so large that it fills a wagon.)
  • A confused Otto, dressed as the Easter Bunny, can't figure out whether he's "way late or way early".
  • In a Peanuts-esque scene, Martin plays a toy piano while Santa's Little Helper dances on it and Lisa leans on it and listens to the music.
  • A smug-looking Bart, apparently attempting to exploit the gathering for personal gain, has set a plastic trash barrel on the gym floor and written "Toys for Tot" on it.
